“Together we’re going to deliver real change that once again puts Americans first,” Trump said at an October rally in Florida. “That begins with immediately repealing and replacing the disaster known as Obamacare…" And don't forget the rest of that sentence: "You’re going to have such great health care, at a tiny fraction of the cost—and it’s going to be so easy.” Then we get this line from the idiot-in-chief: "Nobody knew it was so complicated."
Ah the left's outrage is as disingenuous as the republicans. You guys are just pissed you got rejected. You guys went from obstruction is bad to let's overthrow the government almost overnight.
I wonder if you're aware of the possibility that your incredible fascination is the result of confirmation bias?
I'm a bit more objective than most political junkies. Both parties leave a bad taste in my mouth but for different reasons. The left didn't used to be so hive minded. But as the radicals have gained more power and technology has advanced they seem to be giving up individual thought for group think.
Yeah, "us guys" are advocating for a military coup to overthrow the government. LOL. The word unhinged comes to mind.
So then you don't know **** about how govt works if you think a new bill could be signed, voted on and implemented in 1 day=) since NOTHING gets done in the first couple due to the transition. How long did it take Obamacare to first be implemented. Day 1? Or was it Year 2? Only illogical people who don't understand business think when someone says Day 1, it literally means 24 hrs. When someone says, "That cracked me up." it doesn't mean someone breaks in 1/2 when they laugh=) I'll chalk this up to FAKE NEWS. "Oh my god, we don't have a new law enacted on election day...WHAT a moron...he broke his promise!! The country is doomed." That was a CNN quote hehe And for reference: The House passed the Senate bill with a 219–212 vote on March 21, 2010. Obama signed ACA into law on March 23, 2010. Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009. How long was that again?
13 1/2 months. About 72 months less than we've been hearing about "we're going to repeal and replace this law".
Insurance company medical loss ratios and gross margins have improved because insurance companies are dumping the exchanges that they are losing money on. Meanwhile, one third of the counties in the US have only one insurer on their exchange, and 45 counties have none. But the insurance company bottom line is great because they are bailing out of those counties. I have to admit, it's weird to hear liberals praising the profitability of insurance companies because of their cutting of unprofitable markets.
I was in Arizona and my Uber driver told me he has to drive across the state of health care because of Obamacare. There are millions of other Americans just like him. This study is a pile of crap to the people that are crushed by Obamacare. Note: I lost my doctor, plan, and my premium and deductible went through the roof! There are millions more just like me.
I'll let you do the research on that. If you can demonstrate that the counties that had zero insurance companies before Obamacare still have zero and those that had one before still have one, then you'll get a talking point win. I already got my win in this thread by pointing out how your linked story was praising the economic health of insurance companies for dumping unprofitable lines and you praised it as an Obamacare win.
"he analysis by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation examined first-quarter earnings in 2017 and found insurance companies are paying a lower share of premiums out in medical claims than in any comparable period since the law went into effect. The current mix of enrollees do not appear to be less healthy than in the past, an important factor in whether companies can turn a profit." Because people can't use their policies because deductibles are so high, my went from $2500 to $6500. So DUH they aren't paying out as much but we the consumers are paying out LOTS more. So you are sitting fat and happy because Obamacare increased insurance company profits? THAT was the goal?
Like your insurance premimums will go down $2500 and you can keep the policy you have, the insurance company you have and the doctor you have?
I didn't realize I was praising, I was just pointing out it wasn't all the doom and gloom we had been hearing.
A policy that had to comply and thus the cost skyrocketed. Is that your best attempt at a dodge? Try again "The analysis by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation examined first-quarter earnings in 2017 and found insurance companies are paying a lower share of premiums out in medical claims than in any comparable period since the law went into effect. The current mix of enrollees do not appear to be less healthy than in the past, an important factor in whether companies can turn a profit." Well the areas that you were pointing out were not all "doom and gloom" were simply the profitability of insurance companies by dumping unprofitable lines of insurance. Good for the insurance company stock price, bad for the exchange markets if you are trying to buy a plan.
