Good luck getting home! What country is Wazahachie in? Did you need a passport to travel to Texas? Did sherif Apaio try to stop you?

Stay safe! Get back online if your survive and get your internet connection back !! If you do not survive it has been a pleasure having you post here. Do not forget to right your name and SS # on your fins so that the last responders can identify you.

This Harvey storm failed to follow the proper path. I thought that hurricanes this time of year were supposed to go straight at Mexico. What in the hell did trump do to screw up that pattern? That is grounds for impeachment!! Lock him up!

Live on the southeast side of Houston, not so bad here yet; or should I say nothing our flood infrastructure cant handle. Was up all night at work making sure fuel is getting tested and moved by pipelines without interruption.

Lets see how things go here by Sunday and Monday, Ive never left for a storm and have been here almost 40 years so this is not the worst or predicted to be the worst I have seen.

My cousin lives in Galveston, I hope he came up here to Arkansas to stay with his brother during the hurricane. I have lost touch with my cousins over the years and only saw them on TV during the Natalie Holloway case. Wish we could hear from them.

After Charley took the roof off Hurricane Frances just hung there raining after removing the tarps. My living room ceiling is painted sky blue to remind me of being able to see sky and the blue roof.

People from Texas put on my blue roof.

    Prayers!

This is the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005. Wilma is the most intense hurricane ever in the Atlantic basin. It did weaken before making landfall in Florida though.

Corpus Christi isn't New Orleans. Not only will the government respond better, but the people will respond better and cause less problems in the aftermath. Since Katrina in 2005, I've worked in New Orleans twice for a total of 2 days. Before Katrina I worked in New Orleans about 3 months every year. Businesses won't be leaving Corpus Christi. I'll be starting up new equipment there frequently. Most of it from the Toshiba plant in Houston.

Louisiana didn't allow federal support until 3 days after Katrina. Texas governor has already requested federal help and moved state resources from North Texas in place to begin search and rescue and restoration of utilities as soon as possible before the storm even made land. The storm is bad, but we are on it.

It is a very slow moving storm so it will likely dump all it's moisture in just a few spots -- Corpus Christi and Houston were the top ones as projected.

Navy's Kingsville base unable to evacuate most T-45 jets before Hurricane Harvey hits.....

Nearly three-quarters of the Navy's T-45 trainer jets were unable to be evacuated from the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Texas, ahead of Hurricane Harvey's landing Friday evening.

NAS Kingsville, located 30 miles inland, attempted on Thursday to transfer all flight-worthy jets to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Forth Worth to avoid their being caught in the Category 3 hurricane's path.

Approximately half of the Navy's 197 T-45 primary jet trainers are housed at Kingsville. Only 28 of the 99 jets there were deemed airworthy or had a pilot to fly them to Fort Worth, according to the Military Times.

The remaining 71 aircraft were moved into hangars at Kingsville, where they will be up against the expected 90 mph winds and 3 feet of rain.

The T-45s that were sent to Fort Worth flew under a 10,000-foot altitude to avoid possible oxygen issues. All of the jets were grounded earlier this year due to cockpit oxygen system failures in multiple incidents while pilots used them in training.....snip~

We don't have a Democrat governor. Even if the storm is as bad, conservatives prepare instead of running off to a sports stadium and complaining.

Doubtful. We'd prefer to send no money to Washington and just take care of ourselves.
