This is, of course, not what he said. And, if the DNC had run anyone else, he would not be President.
Natty, the comment was made in jest. He stated that he could shoot someone in the middle of fifth avenue and not lose votes as an example of his support. It was figurative and not literal. And what is it with you and people like you referring to the imaginary Trump Cult? As I have said about those who disagree who President Trump, that is their right. People will continue to distance themselves from him, because as I stated in the initial post for today, he is attempting to clear the mess that many of those who leave him, had a hand in creating to begin with. As I have stated already, you all nit-pick over things that do not really matter. More to the point, from your comments, you really believe that people are too stupid to make a reasonable and intelligent decision based on reality/facts and not personality. I call such a position, arrogance. Believing that only Liberals and those who hate President Trump can make intelligent decisions, is self-delusion at best. As to cults, what about the Obama and Clinton cults blaming everything on racism and a "Vast Right-wing Conspiracy".
I didn't take Trump to mean "some racists are nice people," even though we all know this is true -- there are rednecks in the south who look down on blacks but would help them out in an emergency-- I took Trump to mean that there were protesters who opposed removal of the monuments for reasons of history and tradition, maybe aesthetics, but who were not members of the KKK or Aryan Brotherhood, etc. Very few people are all good or all bad.
I have a serious question for all of the Trump detractors who visit this website. Name ONE, just ONE right that President Trump has violated! I am only asking for one factual violation, not hyperbole. Here is a video: I love it when smug people are put in their place. Go Stephen Miller Go!
Bullshit. Nazi's make up a miniscule fraction of the people opposed to the removal of the statue. Also, Antifa is a lot worse than Illinois Nazis.
This is the complete press briefing with Stephen Miller. You will hear for yourself the intelligence of Mr. Miller.
He should have named neo nazis and kkk. There is nothing wrong with nationalism or loving yout country. And not much right about nazis or kkk
if one marches with people chanting what that group was chanting.... well if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck
had he kept his outrage to the terrorist and those like him, vs saying both sides did bad, he would of been better off
I saw it, he said both "many sides" and there were "good people on both sides" I would look it up, but even if posted, would it mater? wasn't just the comments, it was that he gets so upset over meaningless stuff and this.... nothing then pardons a guy that was social profiling, ect...
The I Hate Trump Crew are pathetic. Nothing that he does will satisfy them, so from now on I will just ignore them.
There were good people on both sides. This may be too nuanced for a limited intellect but on one side there were nazis AND some white nationalists and many others who just wished to oppose removal of pieces of history, On the other side there were antifa AND communists AND many others who just wished to protests. The moral equivalency is quite real and accurate
The same has to be said for anyone who marches on the side of antifa. The moral equivalency is real and accurate
Are you saying there are good communists? Because that is what everyone hears you saying when you try to distinguish between antifa and nazis
The response was not provoked it was planned in advance and it was planned to be violent. The truth is you are an apologist for communists and thugs.
It's not nuanced at all, any even those with limited intellect can see the false equivalency you attempt to make. Nazis are an ideology based on the concept of a supreme and superior race with a history of genocide who support a totalitarian form of government. White supremacists is an ideology based on the concept of a supreme and superior race with a history of terror and discrimination against people who are not of the supreme or superior race. Anti-fascists are a loose coalition of people who are against fascism. I am an anti-fascist. Aren't you? Or are you a nazi as well, and the "soup" part of your avatar is just for dressing? Now, there are some folks who go out with the anti-fascist group who are anarchists or communists or whatever, and they may behave in an inappropriate manner. But what you (and donald) are doing is taking the behavior or beliefs of *some* of the folks who are anti-fascist, and attributing that behavior and beliefs to *everyone* who is anti-fascist, to create a false equivalency that everyone who is anti-fascist is moral equivalent to those who are nazis or white supremacists. Why you (or donald) would so mightily endeavor to make such a false moral equivalency I'll let other members decide for themselves, but I have my own suspicions.
Wrong the only one's falsely claiming that it is a false equivalence are those with weak intellect and those with an agenda. The evidence is in the misdirection in your post. Everyone is antifascist. Antifa however is not anti fascist. Antifa is anti anyone who is not completely in lockstep with their communist views and communism is easily. historically and demonstrably as bad as evil as any nazi view. To promote communism while expressing planning and executing attacks on others for their opinion is just as bad in an ideological moral and ethical sense as any claptrap a nazi spouts. The inappropriate manner is the consistent ongoing actions which they quite regularly and openly engage in and it is NOT merely inappropriate it is illegal and as foul as any cross burning. the moral equivalence is quite real and you prove that fact by tap dancing around the important FACTS to defend the indefensible.
You mean like trying to equate nazis and white supremicists with everyone who opposed those view points. Thanks for proving my point. "Antifa" is short hand for anti-fascist. What else does it mean? They are anti-fascist. Not communists. Again, you are taking the actions of some and stereotyping it to a group to make a false equivalency. There is no "moral equivalence" between nazis and white supremicists and those who oppose those views. Only those who are trying to excuse or justify nazis and white supremicists would try to make such a false equivalency. Speaking of which, I asked you if you supported or were a nazi or white supremacist or support their vile ideology. You dodge my question. Which is telling.
White racists are obviously a disgusting group of people and Trump should have made it clear that he ideologically sides with the protesters and is against what these racists stand for. But he should have noted that violence on both sides is unacceptable.
