This is not a simple matter of migration or immigration. If you look at international news you'll see that it is also a matter of terrorism and subverting the host nations.

I didn't say it was a simple matter. In fact, I said it was largely a no-win situation.

Excuse me. I thought you mentioned 'economic migration'.

It did help reduce illegal immigration considerably, but they have a massive legacy from the period between the White Australia policy and the introduction of the repatriation system

Not many US immigrants were refugees.
I can't blame the intent of economic migrants, they are, as you suggest, go-getters. But to suggest they would die if they didn't get across misstates their predicament.

Not sure that is a misstatement when it comes to Syrians, but there is some sort of Sunni v. Shia thing heating up in the region thanks to ISIL and Iran so it is not clear how much that would be the case outside of Syria.

Oops! thanks for that correction :)
True. My point is that Islamic immigrants is not the worst of the problem by a long shot.
Well, I'm not here to judge on what they believe, so much as what they do. I find the Muslims I know are pretty chilled about most things. That's who I mean by moderate.

The Greece landings tend to be from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, whilst the Italy landings tend to be from Sub Sahara Africa.
Even Syrians have to pass through the relatively safe country of Turkey in order to get to Greece.

Thanks for the info. I have seen so much conflicting info on from whence they come and what is going on in those places on the ground it is tough to make sense of.

Couple hundred years of Germans fleeing where they lived to the Roman south will have the same effect as today.

Before the Germans lived in horrible conditions compared to the Romans, whenever they came back they would talk about heated floors like they were a miracle!

Eventually the Germans took over and really put the Italians into a place where they never recovered. It will be interesting to see if history repeats itself.

But you can't let them drown... they're human beings. I know in Greece certain islands have been swarmed with refugees, and they've seen Turkish coast guards overturning the rafts through their bonoculars.

One couple from Britain that lives on Lesvos, said that she won't go into the city because seeing all the the dead bodies, and especially those of children makes her sick.

The only way to stop the migrants, (and they have been coming into Greece way before the Syrian war), is to advertise in their countries of origin the reality of the situation and what they're going to suffer with the traffickers.

Of course there wouldn't have been any problems with migrants from Africa if Ghadaffi wasn't killed, and there wouldn't have been any problems with refugees from Syria, if the US didn't support the terrorists.

You're jumping around in history here and missing a big part. The Barbaric invasion was in the West, the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine) was alive and well and survived 1,000 years. They had 5 story buildings, elevators, baths, sewage, universities, libraries, etc., etc. One European delegate was amazed when he approached the Emperor and saw two gold lions moving their heads and roaring, as well as gold birds chirping on a gold tree.

Most important though was the education. Although they spoke a demotic Greek, they wrote in Classical Greek. It was these teachers that the Italian colonists sent into Italy to educate the people. There was also the Greek city of Alexandria which was the cultural center during the Roman Empire. This is how the Arabs got their knowledge. Only Europe was in the dark ages.

Draco, the Italians like the Greeks, put themselves in a place where they will never recover. Don't blame the Germans.

Which US President ordered Angela to admit millions of Muslims? Was the same order given to Italy? Belgium? Sweden? Switzerland??

Maybe rational people can understand now why the US wants to be more isolationist regarding Western Europe.

Every last one should be sent back.

I love the hypocrisy here of the liberal trash; the West was "bad" for kidnapping millions of black africans and making slaves of them - people whose societies had not advanced in about 5,000 years - but its "good" for the black africans to sneak into Europe and the West.

As many as it takes until they stop trying. If that takes 100 MM, then do it.

Perfect answer. There are FIFTY-SEVEN muslim countries, all too happy to throw their weight around at the UN, let them take some responsibility for their black african muslim "brothers".

Its the same crap heard in the US about "refugees fleeing war" from Honduras and the rest of central/latin america; they have to pass through dozens of other countries to get to the US - its all absolute garbage from the liberal trash.

An even better couple of thoughts for you: 1-there will be 4 billion africans in 100 years 2-slavery is still legal in several african countries.

    How's that for advancing mankind?

Islam may have done quite well in the single digit centuries but the rest of the world has moved on. They should too.

    BHO, duh.

The US controls Germany, Germany controls the EU, thus the US also control the EU via Germany. :whisper:

Let's hope the new US President will put an end to this.

BHO was a fool. And yet she is not following President Trump's leadership. She seems selective in whose US President she'll follow, but will always have one of them to blame her policies on.
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...gration-refugee-executive-order-a7551641.html

The EU shows little interest in changing its policy on Muslim immigration. In fact they don't even have a policy, do they?
