There is and there isn't, there are pockets like (West of Melbourne) and also in Sydney's West where there have been conflict and concern and yes the media blows it out of proportion. The majority of Australians are very tolerant of other cultures and there's many within Australia. I think the main problem is the growing threat of ISIS in South East Asia and them potentially recruiting Australia's discontented youth... let's face it we've had problems with ISIS recruiting in Australia so no point pretending it won't happen. Australia's Islamic council are pretty good and hopefully they will do what they can from inside our muslim communities.
I lived in Melbourne for a year (South Yarra) and Perth (Mount Hawthorn) for another and know the people to be just as you say. It hurts me personally when I see any of these good people being being murdered, assaulted and otherwise intimidated by Muslims. It would be a shame if their culture was forced to change from the way I knew it.
I should have phrased differently. In my sentence, "they" may refer to Europeans, or the US. Most would probably interpret the former; "they (the US)" would have been clearer. Once something like that happens, strange characters like that Destroyer give you a like, something I don't set much store by.
Nail hit squarely on head I reckon. Liberals always need to learn the hard way that they were wrong, don't they. Then they leave the resulting chaos for someone else to clear up. 'Twas ever thus!
