    So, you want a "wall" built, and you want to pay less taxes at the same time. Who do you plan on financing such a project if not the poor? Trump wanted to reduce funding for FEMA, so what would have happened if he had his way? People like you who lack the ability to rationally think about anything fail to understand that the economy was at its peak when the wealthy were taxed the highest, and it has been in decline ever since Reagan.

    There is a role for government as Thomas Paine explained in his "Common Sense, Rights of Man", however, I suspect you are some kind of corporatist globalist who believes that Plutocracy/Oligarchy/Corpocracy (Take your pick) is the best form of government.

    But the larger point this brings up is that the mainstream not just media but culture doesn’t sufficiently take stock of the fact that within our culture we have a subculture which is literally a fifth column of insanity that is bred from birth, through home school, Christian school, evangelical college, whatever to reject facts as a matter of faith.

    And so this substitute for authentic historic Christianity, and I may add as a little caveat here, I’m a church-going Christian, really brings up the question. Can Christianity be rescued from Christians? And that’s an open question. And when you see a bunch of people going around thinking that our President if the anti-Christ you have to draw one of two conclusions.

    Either these are racists looking for any excuse to level the next accusation or they’re beyond crazy. And I think beyond crazy is a better explanation and that evangelical subculture has rotted the brain of the United States of America. We have a big slice of our population waiting for Jesus to come back. They look forward to Armageddon. Good news is bad news to them.     The KKK was formed by former CSA soldiers, everyone a white southern conservative. Beginning with Nixon's election and finishing during Reagan's two terms, white southern conservatives moved into the GOP.

    This is what is being taught in HS and institutions of higher education.

    Schaeffer published his autobiography, Crazy for God: How I Grew Up As One of the Elect, Helped Found the Religious Right and Lived to Take All (or Almost All) of It Back, in which he goes into much more detail regarding what it was like to grow up in the Schaeffer family and around L'Abri. In 2011, he published another memoir, called Sex, Mom, and God, in which he discusses growing up with his parents and their role in the rise of the American religious right and argues that the root of the "insanity and corruption" of this force in US politics, and specifically of the religious right's position on abortion, is a fear of female sexuality

    Democrat dominance of the South originated during and after Reconstruction as Democrats established white supremacy and disenfranchise blacks. The Republican Party had defeated the Confederacy, abolished slavery, and gave blacks the right to vote, to be citizens and prevented their further enslavement by Democrats through Constitutional amendment. Democrat States were not allowed to rejoin the Union until they ratified all 3 of the Republican Constitutional Amendments, the 13th 14th and 15th amendments. In several of these states, black voters were a majority or close to it. The Democrat Party became the vehicle for the white supremacist “Redeemers”. The Ku Klux Klan, as well as other insurgent paramilitary groups such as the White League and Red Shirts from 1874, acted as "the military arm of the Democrat party" to disrupt Republican organizing, and intimidate and suppress black voters.

    By 1876, Redeemer Democrats had taken control of all the state governments in the South. From then until the 1960s, state and local government in the South was almost entirely monopolized by Democrats. The Democrats reinforced the loyalty of white voters by emphasizing the suffering of the South during the war at the hands of "Yankee invaders" under Republican leadership, and the noble service of their forefathers in "the Lost Cause". This rhetoric was effective with many Southerners. However, this propaganda was totally ineffective in areas that had been loyal to the Union during the war, such as eastern Tennessee. Eastern Tennessee welcomed U.S. troops as liberators, and voted Republican after the war, even to the present.

    Even after Democrats regained control of state legislatures, some blacks were elected to local offices and state legislatures in the South. Black U.S. Representatives were elected from the South as late as the 1890s, usually from overwhelmingly black areas. Also in the 1890s, the Populists developed a following in the South, among poor whites resentful of the Democrat party establishment. Populists formed alliances with Republicans (including blacks) and challenged the Democrat bosses, even defeating them in some cases.

    To prevent such coalitions Democrats acted to disfranchise both blacks and poor whites. From 1890 to 1910, beginning with Mississippi, southern states adopted new constitutions and other laws including various devices to restrict voter registration, disfranchising virtually all black and many poor white residents. These devices applied to all citizens; in practice they disfranchised most blacks and also “would remove from voter registration rolls the less educated, less organized, more impoverished whites as well – and that would ensure one-party Democrat rule through most of the 20th century in the South. All the southern Democrat states adopted provisions that restricted voter registration and suffrage, including new requirements for poll taxes, longer residency, and subjective literacy tests.

    For Democrats holding all political power was their accomplished goal. From 1876 through 1944, the national Democrat party opposed any calls for civil rights for blacks. In Congress Democrats blocked such efforts whenever Republicans targeted the issue.

    Democrats passed “Jim Crow” laws which reinforced racial segregation. The Republican Fourteenth Amendment provided for apportionment of representation in Congress to be reduced if a state disenfranchised part of its population. However, this clause was never applied to the Democrat states that disenfranchised blacks. No blacks were elected to any office in the South for decades after the turn of the century; and they were also excluded from juries and other participation in civil life.

    Democrat candidates won by large margins in the Southern states in every presidential election from the election of 1876 to 1948 except for 1928, when the Democrat candidate was Al Smith, a Catholic New Yorker; and even in that election, the divided South provided Smith with nearly three-fourths of his electoral votes. Democrat Woodrow Wilson’s 1912 election was the result of disfranchisement of blacks in the South, and he promptly re-segregated the Federal Government. It also had far-reaching effects in Congress, where the Democrat South gained about 25 extra seats in Congress for each decade between 1903 and 1953.

    In the Deep South (South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas), Democrat dominance was overwhelming, with 80%–90% of the vote, and only a tiny number of Republican state legislators or local officials. Mississippi and South Carolina were the most extreme cases – between 1900 and 1944, only in 1928 when the three subcoastal Mississippi counties of Pearl River, Stone and George went for Hoover did the Democrats lose a single one of these two states’ counties in any presidential election. In the remaining states, the German-American Texas counties of Gillespie and Kendall, and a number of counties in Appalachian parts of Arkansas, Alabama and Georgia would vote Republican in presidential elections through this period. In the Upper South (Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia), Republicans retained a significant presence mainly in these remote Appalachian regions which supported the Union during the Civil War, even winning occasional governorships and often drawing over 40% in presidential votes.

    By the 1920s, as memories of the Civil War faded, the Solid South cracked slightly. For instance, a Republican was elected U.S. Representative from Texas in 1920, serving until 1932. The Republican national landslides in 1920 and 1928 had some effects. In the 1920 elections, Tennessee elected a Republican governor, elected Republicans to five of the state’s ten U.S. House seats and became the first former Confederate state to vote for the Republican candidate for U.S. President since Reconstruction. However, with the Democrat national landslide of 1932, the South again became solidly Democrat.

    Southern demography was changing, from 1910 through 1970, about 6.5 million black southerners moved to urban areas in other parts of the country in the Great Migration, and demographics began to change southern states in other ways. Florida began to expand rapidly, with retirees and other migrants from other regions becoming a majority of the population. Many of these new residents brought their Republican voting habits with them, diluting traditional Southern hostility to the Republicans. The Republican Party began to make gains in the South. By the mid-1960s, changes had come in many of the southern states. Texas elected a Republican Senator in 1961; Florida and Arkansas elected Republican governors in 1966. In the upper South, where Republicans had always been a small presence, Republicans gained a few House and Senate seats.

    The South was still overwhelmingly Democrat at the state level, with majorities in all state legislatures, and most U.S. Representatives as well. The Democrats demonstrated their rage and hatred for the US in the 1968 Chicago Convention, horrifying much of the nation. Then in 1972 they ran McGovern on the "Acid, Abortion and Amnesty" ticket for the Vietnam Draft Dodgers and became more clearly the Party of Jane Fonda. Over the next thirty years Veteran Democrat officeholders retired or died, and older voters who were still rigidly Democrat also died off. There were also increasing numbers of migrants from other areas, especially in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina. Via the “Republican Revolution” in the 1994 elections, Republicans captured a majority of Southern House seats for the first time, in the wake of Clinton's National Gun Control measures.

    This legislative act by Democrats, happily signed into law, broke the stranglehold Democrats had had on Congress since the FDR era and brought The Gingrich Revolution to power. Democrats continued to push gun control and have now lost all the political power they had accumulated from 1928, all the the way down from the National to the local level. All their gains, since FDR, gone. Nearly every State with a strong hunting culture, voted for Trump, even including a portion of Maine, except for the widespread cheating by Democrats, the sweep likely also included New Hampshire.

    Today, the South is a Republican stronghold at the state and federal levels, with Republicans holding majorities in every southern state after the 2014 elections when it became increasingly undeniable that Democrats are generally racialist, divisive and demented in their political outlook. They cling to thoroughly discredited concepts of "race", they are largely viewed by The Electorate as racialist, demented and divisive. Failing to be able win by cheating at the ballot box, they are currently failing at bringing widespread political violence to our streets.

    There was only a "Solid" South for Democrats in the 4 presidential between 1880 and 1892.

    It fractured in the 4 elections between 1896 and 2008.

    It reformed for Democrat Segregationist Woodrow Wilson for his first term.

    It fractured for the 4 elections between 1916 and 1928

    It reformed for Roosevelt's 4 elections and has never formed again.

    It only persists in the minds of the fevered as an attempt to explain why Democrats keep losing, when you keep losing because you have no respect for our Country, Americans or our Constitutional Rights.

    American's formed our government specifically to secure our rights, so its perfectly logical and prudent that we would reject Democrats who want a small group of elitist fools to micromanage the minutia of our daily lives.

    If you want to win more elections, show more respect for OUR RIGHTS!

    Almost every Christian denomination in the U.S. shows signs of growing diversity as white Christians, once the majority in most mainline Protestant and Catholic denominations, give way to younger members, who tend to be of different races, according to a vast study released Wednesday by the Public Religion Research Institute.

    I'm at one with every group sworn to our founding documents:

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

    That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

    If they are dedicated to this, I could care less what their family and religious background are.

    If they are NOT dedicated to this, similarly, I could care less what their family and religious background are.
