There is a pattern of violence against non-whites who encounter the police.

One of the latest is a deaf guy shot 6 times because he couldn't understand the police - when by-standers were yelling that he's deaf.

Will he get charged with murder? Like with the rest, the problem goes deeper than whether there is an actual charge.

The issue is whether there is free speech. I don't mean that to sound simplistic. There are issues of employment, contracts, etc.

No, we weren't "in" Vietnam for "right" reasons. We had no solution for the problems faced by the Vietnamese. We were there for the USA.

The police are shooting human beings when there is little to absolutely ZERO threat. "Suspects" or not, there has to be a legitimate reason to kill citizens.

Castile, for example, did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do - what the police asked him to do. Yet, they shot him over and over again while he sat inside his car with his girlfriend and her young daughter.

That is criminal. And, it IS race related. And, there is NO change taking place. What's happening is that the repeated dismissal of these cases proves that the police can shoot black citizens with impunity.

Your dad's little talk with you is a ridiculous excuse for what is going on today. It demonstrates a giant hole in your understanding.

The best way I think of so far is thanksgiving

Imagine you go to thanksgiving with all your family and the food is layed out and your grandma wants to say grace before you eat and you say hold on I want to take a knee.

Maybe you don't be have a grandma or a family or celebrate thanksgiving. But pretend you do, for a moment

 

They should be protesting thug brutality.

 

They should be protesting the treatment of police departments by some black American citizens.

 

Perhaps if their concerns were actually warranted, people would pay attention.

 

No, obviously cops are racist and just out there hunting African Americans since all blacks end up dead after a contact with law enforcement.
