John Kelly's 'Empty Barrel' Attack Was Racist, Frederica Wilson Says

Trump is the one who, in response to a question about why he had not spoken about the Niger raid, said that he was taking his time because he wanted to contact the families. He also decided to lie about former presidents and his own tendency to call gold star families.

 

I don't know her reasoning. I do; however, recognize a pattern of Trump and his administration to attack and dismiss any criticism directed from minorities.

More importantly, why haven't you condemned Frederica Wilson and/or her accusation? Why don't I hear you saying that she hates the military or Marines or general officers on account of her mistreatment of General Kelly?

When have I ever said or implied such a preposterous thing? I know as well as most people that slander doesn't equate to "saying anything", so I don't treat them the same. Furthermore, any military person and Blue and Gold Star family member knows (or should know) that once they get themselves involved in politics they make themselves and their positions fair game. Of course, the operative term here is fair, and defamation doesn't fit that description.

Interesting how a "Republican" feels compelled to deflect attention away from a Democrat who slandered a Gold Star Father to some Republicans who slandered a Gold Star Mother a decade ago. That sounds like something a Democrat would do.

I hate to disappoint you but I never slandered Mrs. Sheehan nor did I condone the slander that was directed at her by the people who disagreed with her politics and/or provocative publicity stunts that many people found offensive (and rightly so, in my opinion). On the other hand, I don't blame her family members for turning their backs on her, either. Perhaps, it's because I'm part of a military family that has loved ones buried in Arlington National Cemetery, but I've always been willing to cut Gold Star families a lot of slack when it comes to their responses to the death of a loved one. It's a traumatic experience and different people respond to it in different ways. How the members of the Sheehan family responded is a classic example of this.

However, getting back to what I said earlier, Sheehan willingly and knowingly stepped into politics and engaged in what many people considered inappropriate and offensive behavior, and prancing around with anti-American thugs like Hugo Chavez opened her up to even harsher criticism. One could argue that she deserved the harsh criticism she received, but there's still a difference between that criticism and the dishonest slander that Frederica Wilson vainly hurled at Jack Kelly.

Although Wilson did tell the audience the story of how she and other colleagues in Congress — including then-House Speaker John Boehner and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) — worked to get an expedited funding bill passed for the building, she did not simply sit down afterward.


Rather, she paid tribute to the two FBI agents who were killed, while describing them as brave individuals who “died valiantly.” She then encouraged all men and women in the room who worked in law enforcement to stand up so that they could be recognized and applauded by the crowd.


“Stand up!” she said. “We are proud of you!”

 

Now that you're through covering yourself in excrement, tell us how "empty barrel" is a racist term and how a man who served our country with honor and distinction for decades "is a disgrace and unfit to serve in the military".

He referred to her as the congresswoman several times because what he described what she did was deplorable. At least in most decent people's eyes. Of course the left is morally bankrupt and on some space mission to destroy all morals and truth, so who can say how they interpret stuff?
