None, but you show your ignorance if you think that the M4 carried by our elite soldiers is any different from the M16.
The AR-15 was the designation of the prototype. M16 became the final name of the existing product. Now the AR-15 designation belongs to civilian firearms. The argument being made by yourself amounts to nothing more than semantics. It holds no more validity than a disagreement over whether or not it is appropriate to refer to unmanned aerial vehicles as drones.
Again what military chooses the krappy AR-15? You can not answer, because the question is none as no military chooses junk
Cease the senseless banter, and listen to those with more experience on the topic than yourself. The AR-15 is not a military firearm, because the current production AR-15 rifle was designed and marketed exclusively for civilian ownership on the private market. It does not possess the selective-fire capabilities of the M16 rifle and M4 carbine, which is why the AR-15 is not a military firearm. The military does not wish to employ a semi-automatic rifle outside of the role of designated marksman, which is filled by a different rifle entirely.
Again if the AR-15 had any quality they would make a military version and a civilian version. However since the weapon sucks in totality no military would ever consider it, which is why Colt bought the patent and made a far better weapon. Armalite makes toys, <Rule 2>
Simply because a military does not employ a particular firearm does not mean it amounts to junk. A great many firearms meet or exceed military performance requirements, but are too prohibitively expensive to be afforded for field use. Militaries, like any other organization, look at the bottom line, being the cost of equipment. Those who can meet the requirements for the lowest price at the ones who are afforded contracts. Beretta brand handguns were not chosen for military service due to exceptional quality, but because the company presented the lowest asking price.
In your mind only LOL a quality trigger alone should cost more than these krappy guns https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/category/armalite/rifles.do
So Armalite went from being cheap civilian guns to used by every World military. Name a military contract that Armalite has..... Seriously they will make sure you know, just like Boeing and or Raytheon lets stockholders know of their contracts.............. Go now
SAC of which Armalite merged into is primarily a military/LEO contractor. Fixed it for you. Armalite as a company ceased operations in the 1980's. Ever hear of McMillan? How about AWC? Geez you're ridiculous.
So the AR-24 designed in 2006 isn't an Armalite toy because Armalite ceased operations in the 1980's............ Okeedokee ifm um say um so
A gunshop commando knows more. A firearms illiterate is closer to the truth. The truth is, the Semi Auto only version known as the AR multi caliber platform only differs from the Selectfire model by the absense of the Autosear and pin, and the. M-16 or M-4. selectfire parts, bolt carrier, sear, trigger, hammer, selector, and 3 round burst in the 3 round burst only M-16A2 Otherwise the marketed parts are all Mil Spec and meet current Military specifications and requirements.
The only plastic used in those guns is the stock, pistol Grip, forearm, none of those parts have anything to do with function in any way, the barrel bolt and bolt carrier is ordnance steel, the upper and lower receivers are aluminum, populated by steel parts, not plastic. Everything a Mil Spec Rifle has save the absence of the full auto sear and full auto parts of the older models & 3 round burst of the newer M-4 Military version.
If only he was gunshop commando. He's here to disrupt and hijack threads. We have a few others including one who likes to wave the bloody shirt.
