I said they were open to it. I didn't say I had proof they were successful. But considering both sides wanted to work together, it seems like a stretch to assume they didn't.

Trump didn't obstruct justice.

 

That is one of the things he is under investigation for.

 

I know (as any informed person would by now) the the Russians began running a massive campaign against the United States to feed political division, and promote the forces that undermine world leadership (bigotry, xenophobia, and fear), and sow mistrust in American government and institutions. Since the GOP had been sounding many of these same themes for political gain, all the Russians had to do was turn up the volume.

You could see it on this forum. When Russia upped its troop strength in Syria, right wingers suddenly discovered RT, and began linking it here. I saw this with my right wing friends on FB.

It was finally reported on in the US by the New York Times in the Spring of 2015, about six weeks before Trump announced.

When Trump announced, I was already well aware of many of his Rusian dealings. It was no secret in the business world that Trump was bad pay, and nobody would lend him any money. Repeated stories in the business press indicated that Trump was relying on Russians for much of his backing.

By that fall, Trump had begun his public bromance with Vladimir Putin.

It was that fall that the FBI first notified the DNC that their servers may have been hacked by Russians.

Roger Stone abruptly left any formal role in the Trump campaign around that time. He had considerable Russian dealings, and his protoge (bag man) Carter Page was going back and forth.

In March, the Russians told the Trump campaign that they had Clinton's e-mails.

From then on, there was a steady stream of almost routine communications between Russian agents, cutouts, oligarchs and government officials and the Trump campaign. At least nine people have been caught out either concealing these meetings or lying about them.

What remains to be seen is what happened between June of 2015 and March of 2016, when Trump was told the Russians had the Clinton e-mails.

There is no question that at some point, the Russians turned their campaign into a pro Trump campaign. The question is whether that decision was worked out between the Russians and the Trump campaign, or whether they proceeded on two parallel tracks without coordination.

That seems increasingly unlikely.

At first, I rejected the collusion idea because it was inconcievable to me that anyone would be stupid enough to commit an act of high treason like that.

But after watching the Trump Adminstration exceed the very low expectations I had for it, I see no reason not to believe that these people really were that stupid.

After all,, they didn't expect to win. They didn't give a damn about the country or the Presidency. It was just a bunch of cowboys going for a ride on the Trump train. Nobody gave a crap about the law. They figured if they lost nobody would care, and if they won, they'd have the keys to the kingdon and they could make any questions go away. Remeber, Trump did think he was going to be a king.

I really doubt Putin care who won the election. I'm sure he probably thought Hillary was going to win. All he cares about is dividing America and delegitimizing our election process.

If Russia is so dangerous why would they approve the uranium deal knowing that there was a Russian bride plot active? Isn't Russia bad? Why would you want them to have any uranium at all? Seems pretty dumb to me.

Soliciting the help of a foreign adversarial power to help rig/corrupt the 2016 election.........don't spin yourself into confusion. The simple reason is the correct one here. In addition since he is also beholden to RUssia, the treason has likely continued in the WH.
