It should be really easy for you to name a few then. Or how about one?

That's an idiotic myth being pushed by those who favor and benefit from the war on drugs. If you want a real sample of what it would look like if all drugs for personal use were decriminalized, look at Portugal.

"With some exceptions, including a marginal increase among adolescents, drug use has fallen over the past 15 years and now ebbs and flows within overall trends in Europe."

They do, thus the instructions he did not follow.

Any law making it a crime to possess drugs for personal use is unconstitutional.

If not knowing something is a legitimate reason to shoot someone, then there is no one cops cannot shoot.

We need objective limitations on the use of deadly force, not guesswork based on feelings.

Get on the floor, cross your legs, put your hands out.

My gosh, such confusing orders huh?

Tell us which part of those you have a problem understanding?

They are following standards that are looser than what Marine infantrymen are expected to follow in Iraq. This despite the fact that their jobs are not even that dangerous. Farmers and fishers have significantly more dangerous jobs than police officers on average. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing how heroic and brave cops are. They aren't. Their job isn't that difficult and it's not that dangerous. Stop slobbering over them. They're just government agents enforcing lots of stupid rules and soaking up billions in tax dollars every year.

Thats Europe, not the US. Are you calling the opioid epidemic an ebb or a flow?

Possibly going for a gun is the threat.

Do you want him to pull his weapon out first so he has a chance to kill the cop?

It’s so safe they get shot and killed, just like your job right?

Oh, so you are going to pretend like that's all he said. Do you often pretend? Or do you just reserve it for internet forums where you cannot suffer real life embarrassment?

Should we transcribe everything that was said during the encounter to this thread and go over it in detail and cross reference it with the video so that you will no longer misrepresent reality? Or can we just be honest and admit that the orders were confusing and interspersed with all sorts of irrelevant and inflammatory comments?

Do you even care that I spent four years in the Marine infantry and deployed to Iraq? And that I obviously know far more than you do about how these things actually work?

I know that's a lot of questions to answer, but I had to cover all my bases given your patently ridiculous characterization of the situation.

Have you ever been in a stressful situation before? Have you ever been in fear for you life? Have you ever walked out of a hotel room and seen six strangers pointing guns at you and screaming at you?

I know, lot's of questions again. But we must get to the bottom of your confusion and inability to comprehend reality.

Another person who clearly does not understand how stress works, or how scary and unnerving it is to walk out into a hall and see six complete strangers pointing guns at you and shouting at you and then telling you that if you make even one little mistake they will kill you.

Tell me, do you encounter these kinds of situations very often? And do you handle them with the same confidence and calm of James Bond? Rhetorical question, obviously. I can almost guarantee you've never been in situation like that. And if you were in such a situation, you were under a lot of stress at the time.

Are you saying you would be incapable of following simple directions if a cop had a gun pointed at you?

It's certainly safer than being a farmer, or a fisher, or a logger, or several other jobs that nobody treats with the kind of slavish deference that is showed towards precious cops.

Ah, getting killed as a cop is less imortant than getting killed as a logger. Got it.

I'm a highly trained individual, so I am pretty confident I could handle the situation. But most people are not like me. They aren't trained to deal with men pointing guns at them and screaming at them and threatening to kill them. The kid clearly broke under the pressure. That is NOT his fault and no American should have such an insane and onerous expectation placed on them by government agents. How "conservatives", who CONSTANTLY complain about "tyranny" and "big government", can so vigorously defend government agents wantonly killing an innocent man who posed no real danger to anyone is absolutely mystifying.

Ironic, since you're the one who is basically arguing that the life and safety of a cop is more important than the innocent civilian he snuffed out for no good reason.

His opinion happens to be the correct one. Anyway, most people just do what they want anyway, and they get away with it, too. And LOTS of Americans violate drug laws because those laws are inconsistent with the higher, natural law that resides within most people. I trust the native sense of justice that people possess (put there by God) far more than I trust cretinous politicians and their judicial creatures.

Pretty much the directions given. Do stupid things, win stupid prizes. Oh, and I see you think you are smarter than others and can follow simple directions.
