It is one of the NRA myths that abound in America and a certain percentage of your population is very convinced of its truth.

Reality is as I posted on that same post - the guy with the gun is even more likely to be targeted because the criminals now know they can get guns there. Not only that but they are more likely to carry out an armed invasion.

This has nothing to do with rights freedoms defence or any of the other excuses made in defence of the indefensible. Guns are supposedly 'sexy' and that uncensored porn has become totally addictive stateside

This is about Hollywood inspired macho bravado and the percieved glamour and heroism guns supposedly endow their users with. Thats deeply ingrained in the American psyche with around 80% of Hollywoods output sustaining it every day. Given that amount of endless cradle to grave preconditioning gun control there stands little chance
