Get attacked by someone trying to kill you and the first thing you'll wish is that you had a gun.

    LoL.

I know the right wing deflection machine is working overtime.

Can't defend the massive death rate from guns - deflect to hospital errors or car crashes or sugar in diets or something else

Because the high death rate CANNOT be defended

How do you know a person is a dangerous driver until they do something dangerous? Every time you drive down a two-lane blacktop, how do you know the person in the other lane isn't suicidal and won't suddenly drive into you to make it look like an "accident" so his/her family can collect their life insurance?

How high a fence do you want to force every homeowner to have around their pool? Aren't you among those that say "the Wall" is stupid because people can go over it, under it or through it?

The reason the "most mild suggestion in relation to gun legislation" falls on deaf ears of people like myself is because the anti-gun people have been dishonest, outright lied and will take a mile for every reasonable inch given. Never again.

We're not defending it; we have different solutions than you propose, and that were used in Australia and Russia.

Name another metric considered an epidemic where 4 instances out of 100,000 are considered high.

Besides, we're discussing things that cause deaths.

Clearly there are things that kill far more people than guns, yet you deflect from them onto "guns".

For telling the truth? What Nanny State rule do you plan on passing next? "Say only nice things about people or go to jail"?

When your constitution was established you had a right to own slaves too. Times change as civilised moralities improve and such barbarism gets banished. Time for a change in your gun culture is long overdue unless you believe 1.5 million mainly needless deaths in the last 50 years is morally justifiable in any way whatsoever

Surely you have the right to object to someone endangering your life....

Yes and each time we do that (remember it is over a time span of 20 years) we reduce gun related deaths. Quite a nice correlation actually

We do, that's why we get upset when people who live in nanny states cry about disarming us.

Gun confiscation would be completely unconstitutional here.

Why would a criminal knowing that the homeowner didn't have guns endanger that homeowner's life?

You mean like Second Amendment proponents objecting to those endangering their lives by restricting their rights of self-defense? Like that?

Why are you only concerned about murders and deaths when guns are used?

How's that suicide rate doing now that you guys are on your 6th gun buyback?

I thought owning a gun was more dangerous for the owner?

Hmmmm but do we advertise you as targets for not even criminals - this opens it up for anyone who also wants to stop and have a rant about those who are anti gun. We see enough rabid radicalism from the pro gun lobby to know that if this were real life there would be "in your face" confrontations

Great point! So why would the non-gun owning neighbor be afraid? Of what? Won't the police protect them?

So not owning a gun makes you a target for criminals?

You should read your list of talking points first so that logic doesn't get in there and embarrass you.

What kind of bullying is a non-gun owner going to be subjected to?

    Bullying

He has obviously put up the sign in the hopes that his neighbour will be targeted by criminals. That is not a nice thing to do and here would have the police having long interesting talks with you. Really what is the difference between THAT sign and one that said
"My nieghour has really valuable stuff and no alarm system"?

In reality it is a a classic piece of twonkerism because the collary is actually "I have guns in my house so if you want an illegal gun wait until I leave the house and break in".

Oh so criminals do have a proclivity for attacking people without the means to defend themselves, such as with firearms.

Tell me again how I'm safer if I don't own a firearm, like you normally like to do.
