Three points here: Hilla is more than just a simple 71-year-old woman, she's The Annointed One who the Left kept telling us had health issues that would in no way affect her ability to lead or work or - well, anything were she to win. And it's painfully obvious now that had she won the job (a job that would involve magnitudes more stress and movement that just taking trips, writing books, and doing the interview circuit) that she wouldn't have lasted a month in that position. So who was right regarding her health issues? It seems pretty obvious now that the people supporting Hilla - both figuratively and literally - were wrong regarding her ability to cope with the job of president. And those who voted against her were right in this regard.

Secondly, the real issue here is her refusal to go away. Good grief, she just WON'T go away. She insists on staying in the news. You've completely looked past the cause - Hilla spreading the Gospel of St. Clinton across the world, while focusing your anger on the results: Threads about her saying or doing some dumb thing or whatnot. Don't get mad at the right for laughing at her; get mad at the old bat herself for insisting she's still relevant and on the left-wing press that keeps following her around and reporting on her doings. From where I stand, conservatives are split down the middle regarding her antics: Half want her to disappear completely, and half want her to keep talking as she's an embarrassment to the left every time she opens her yap. I'm one of the former, btw. But either way, what we want is irrelevant, as much as what YOU want is irrelevant. So long as she thinks of herself as important, she'll remain on the national and international scene, and she'll be reported on - and that makes her fair game here. You want her to go away here? Fine - but first she has to go away out there.

Finally, this obsession line - I dunno, it seems like some kind of weak distraction from the topic at best, and trolling a thread at worst. If you don't like the topic, don't post IN the topic. And the posters themselves aren't the issue, Hilla is. I mean, if the posters were the issue, then we have one here who must have done maybe five or six or maybe more threads on the Stormy situation alone and it's Trump, Trump, Trump the rest of the time. Is he ALSO a part of the "love to hate" brigade? Is he obsessed? Sure, you can make an argument that because Trump and Stormy are in the news that making threads about them is appropriate and I'd agree with that statement. But then you also have to conclude that Hilla by staying in the news ALSO makes it acceptable for threads regarding her to be posted. Which way do you want it? It can't be acceptable over here and unacceptable over there.

 

1) LOL She's not 'annointed,' that's absurd. Only RWrs would have such an image in their minds because for some odd reason they make her larger than life. A slip on airplane steps does not indicate someone has serious health problems: it's ridiculous to think so.
2) The refusal to go away is also something in the minds of the RW. She is apparently asked to do interviews and speaking engagements, for which she is probably paid. She has as much right to earn a living as anyone else. As far as the Democratic party, she is just someone who didn't win an election and has gone past the point where she is viable as a candidate. She's like Kissinger; she is asked by journalists for her opnion, & she is asked to do speaking engagements, but she is not a factor in anything having to do with today's Democratic party.
3) You just make too much of her. It's ridiculous.

S'funny, I don't remember Romney doing a third of the stuff she is after he lost; he just faded into the woodwork. And I'm not saying she doesn't have the right to earn a living, although she's worth around 45 million, so I rather doubt she needs to work at all. But by the same token, if she continues to get herself in the news, then she continues to get reported on, and if she gets reported on, then it's perfectly reasonable to see threads about her pop up. I don't see that many threads about Romney or Bernie or Biden nowadays either - probably because they're not out there saying all that much. The math is not that hard to do on this one.

See, I understand the thinking here: Hilla is an embarrassment. So what's one way to shut down the argument that she is one? Say that people who discuss her are "obsessed". Insult them into silence. Make the issue the posters and deflect away from Hilla herself because there's no defense for her. Considering that posters discuss people who are IN the news when you don't WANT that person discussed is a bit hard to swallow. Also consider that posters tend NOT to discuss people who are NOT in the news. Well, you want her NOT discussed here? Simple solution: Have Hilla go away. I promise you, the right won't discuss her very much were she to completely vanish. I rarely see Biden discussed here. I rarely see Kaine either. Until she goes away, until the press stops covering her, expect her to remain fair game.

My preference is that she fade into oblivion and we make nothing of her at all. But since she refuses to go away, we may as well laugh at her. And let's face it, she IS funny. The doddering old crone who refuses to accept the fact that the world has moved on and will keep cursing the darkness with a ghostwritten book in one hand and a bottle of Jack Daniels in the other.

 

I doubt very much Romnney is or was asked on worldwide speaking engagements and interviews. She is an international celebrity. The rest of the world doesn't hold her in the contempt the American rightwing does. Romney is not at that level, otherwise he'd be out there too. He is hardly a shrinking violet and is, in fact, considering running against Trump in 2020. I don't pay any attention to her because I am no longer interested. I believe she is no longer relevant, that the Dems are moving on. Why you are obsessed with her is your problem, not hers and not mine. Yours.

And Bernie, BTW. has been talking a lot. I see him on TV regularly. The thing is, the RW is not obsessed with him. They are obsessed with Clinton, and it's pretty pathetic.

I asked this question here many a time in one form or another before the election: Why should I vote FOR Hilla? I mean, I get the Why I Should Vote Against Trump reasons, but I never got a reason why I should have voted FOR her.
