Or he could be more selective on who he chooses to ally himself with.

The UK, France and the US share great commonalities. What attracts Putin to the Syrians or Iranians?

    So is the USA . . .

    dic·ta·tor·ship
    (dĭk-tā′tər-shĭp′, dĭk′tā′-)
    n.
    1. The office or tenure of a dictator.
    2. A state or government under dictatorial rule.
    3. Absolute or despotic control or power.

Remind you of any other country's method of government apart from Syria's? God the amount of hypocrisy on this thread is absolutely breathtaking.

You don't know the nuances of Ukraine any more than I do, whereas Putin obviously does. I actually believe that just like Chechenya, international terrorists had infiltrated, and needed to be dealt with. And seeing as it didn't affect the west then why the **** should you care? For example, what would your government do if international terrorists were subverting the rule of law in Hawaii ? Answer please?

FFS - Syria is fighting on our behalf to destroy global jihad before it has a chance to establish itself; what will it take to make you understand that??? :wall: 'magnanimous in victory' what a fool thing to say when you shouldn't have waged war in the first place, because all you do is to make things worse everywhere you go - don't you understand that either, when the evidence of it is there for all to see? Name me one place where you were successful and the downtrodden populace applauded you.

Yes, the commonality of wanting world domination?? The world's thicko bully boy and his two snivelling puppy-dogs who wouldn't say Boo to a ****ing goose were it not for being able to hide behind the skirts of the US at the first sign of retaliation. **** the UK, **** France, and most of all **** the USA, because they're all the greatest threat to mankind's continued existence on our beautiful planet. WTF is the matter with you that you want to risk it all?

Assad used chemical weapons on his fellow Syrians in order to benefit the American people? That's an interesting perspective.

Jesus effing wept, how many more times do I need to say this - there is no proof whatsoever that Assad perpetrated the attack, nor any signs that chemicals were used in it even if he did perpetrate it PERIOD!!!!! You most be living proof that neuro-linguistic programming really does work. Give me one just reason why he would use in on his fellow Syrians? Your own opinion for the reason, not something you've read in the MSM.

If you're going to post nonsensical one-liners like the above posts, then don't bother to post any to me. 'I want to destroy the planet because it's there'? WTF!

Despite that fact, the EU is still buying very large quantities of oil and oil-based products from Russia. There is an undeniable "dependency relationship" between them.

I see no indication whatsoever of a "resurgence" of Russian-made products sold in Europe. They have a long way to go to beat China's production capacity in the upper-end of markets (that are more sophisticated).

The reason is that most "sophisticated products" are developed and sold to the Russian military. Only a small part of public-consumption exists for said products.

Which does not mean that Russians are dunderheads when it comes to product-sophistication. They are very good in information technologies. But, they are not "innovative".

Russia follows quickly innovations, but rarely itself innovates technology ...

You come across as a Russian False News troll. Putin invaded and annexed the territory of a sovereign neighbor.
Hmm. Are you a Russian troll? You come across like Hitler excusing his attack on Poland in 1939.
It bugs you, does it, that people don't like your dictator pal, Putin?
Hawaii is a U.S. state while the Ukraine was not.

I think the sanctions against Russian should be stepped up and your economy further damaged.

The one area where the Russians could make it difficult for the world is oil. If Russia subtracted it's production, it would create a huge problem.
The Russians slit their own throats when the oligarchs grabbed foreign business assets. International manufacturers aren't going to put their capital or technology at risk in Russia.
    Exactly.
Russia is going to be a backwater source of natural resources when it could be like Australia and Canada, other countries with lots of raw materials.

Crimea belongs to the Ukraine. It has always had a predominantly Russian ethnic population. But it belonged to the Ukraine (since Russia had gifted it in 1954).

Just take a look at any geography map:

The US is working to neuter Iran and Assad - the power bases of the 10% Shia minority of the Muslim world.
Saudi/Sunni dominance over Islam probably looks like more of a threat to Russia than a theoretical Persian Crescent.

The first mistake the US made with respect to Iran was the overthrow of its socialist government and the installation of the Shah.
The second great error was the decision to favor the Islamic militants overthrow of the Shah.
The third great error involved funding and empowering the militant Islamic government in Iran.

    That's three strikes ...

Which is the greater threat? A theoretical "Persian Crescent" of power, or a Sunni dominated Islam with no significant internal division?

You may be right, but the 18 candidates were a cross section of our political ruling elite.
