Syria should be pushed around if it uses poison gas.
Uh huh. Leave the field to Putin ans Assad, the former responsible for attacks on Georgia and the Ukraine.

So, in your telling the U.S. punks Russia and KGB Putin attacks Europe. Even you know he's a pig.
    Putin turns terrorist?
Russia is stirring the pot. The U.S. and Europe should tighten the screws on KGB Putin.

And right this IF is the point, because there is not a single proof or evidence that poison gas was used and if used, by whom or what happened!
We are talking about chlorine gas, which of course can be used as poison gas, as we all know since World War I ... BUT!
Inform yourself about what chlorine gas is still used or even needed! Find out how easy it is to get chlorine gas!

No, I'm not defending Assad for sure, he's a basatard and no question about that! But if it's really about the truth then you should also try to find out the truth and not announce 2 hours after the incident that it was Assad as the US did!

What is your personal thought and opinion when ... let's say ... make friends with Russia and Mexico over Trump's idiotic wall. Both are beginning to conclude economic agreements, the US companies are pushing out of Mexico piece by piece with punitive tariffs and taxes, the Russians are equipping the Mexican forces and an agreement is being reached after the Russian forces are allowed to use the facilities of the Mexican military at all times?

Certainly theoretically and unlikely, but I guess you would not be amused about that and would demand or support countermeasures from your US government for the own national security and giving a crap on Mexican sovereignty here... right?

Well ... unfortunately, in the case of Georgia, this is not pure theory for Russia or unlikely, because the US did just right that on the direct border of Russia! Funny, that the Russians then keep still calm and only become militarily active, when the Georgian military against the Russia-supported minority went violently! And then you get upset about that ...
And in the case of Ukraine ...
A good 10 years ago there had been still another crisis where the idiots of the US and the EU had nothing better to do to declare an EU and NATO membership as a possibility and as a threat to Russia. At that time Putin had responded in an analogous way "OK, but then the Crimea goes to Russia and should the security of the Russian population majority in Donbass not be guaranteed, it bangs!

This crisis went by, but the response from the US and the EU to Putin's announcement was a weary smile.
I hardly believe that those idiots in the USA nd EU who laughed back then still laugh today!

This time the U.S. is holding off.
A point I made in another post to a Putin troll who said Assad gave up his poison gas.
Nothing has been done to the Assad regime--yet. The Putin trolls around here a crying on Assad's behalf before he's been hit.
Putin, if he's stupid enough, is more than welcome to give Mexico money.
We'll see how far Putin gets. He'd be smarter to make a deal with a Central American country, IMO.
Nice try. The U.S. can, should, and will do nothing.
NATO created no offensive threat to Russia by putting forces in Georgia. Putin attacked and took territory from a sovereign state. Reminds us of Finland, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, the Ukraine, etc.
What a croc! You're back to Stalin and Hitler dividing up Poland.
The response is what's happened to the Russian economy since Putin attacked Georgia.

Maybe the Russian people will get tired of being poor.

Really? Sorry, this time again NOT!

Shjows the lack of knowledge you have ... Chlorine gas he is allowed to have still, agreed by all sides. Why? Because as told, Chlorine gas is not only a poison gas, but a very importnat chemical for many other things ... use Google to find out by your own!

And this well reasoned with view on your IDIOTUS in White House! Must they first be hit to be annoyed about the BS told by IDIOTUS?
What about if the shot back, yill you whine then about US losses?

Putin, if he's stupid enough, is more than welcome to give Mexico money.

Really? We have enough issues which disprrof this ...
Cuba Crises, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Chile and noit to Forget the great Military success of invading Grenada!

    Nice try ... failed!
When did Russian Army go in again? AFTER the Georgian Army broke Agreements and attacked the minorities!

Shall I list on what US behavior reminds me?

Sure, like in 2003 when the Bush Clan & friends dividing up Iraqi oil?
Or like in 1964 when the US made out of rediculous issue a reason to went into Vietnam which made many People very rich?

Well ... the US economy development Looks not otherwise ...

However, Looking on the 1990's, I will say this evil Putin was very succesfull since he took over from Yeltsin, eh?

    Yeah, really--they haven't hit Assad--yet.
The person I talked to before said Assad gave up his stock of chlorine gas. The point I made is that whether he did or didn't makes no difference because chlorine gas is easily made.
Who "shot back?" Assad? Putin? Santa Claus?
Everything you've cited is from long, long ago. The U.S. hasn't done anything about Venezuela.
Ah, the usual Russian pretext--protecting Russians. It makes me barf. Well, I hope it was worth wrecking your economy.
Deflect, deflect. Who likes the Russians? Themselves, perhaps, but no one else.

Genie to Pole: "You can have three wishes. What is your first wish?"

Pole: "I can tell you all three. I want three wars between Belarus and China. The battle will rage from Minsk to Beijing and back to Minsk."

Genie: "Three wishes of the same thing? Why would you want three wars between Belarus and China?"

Pole: "Easy. I figure the battle will go through Moscow six times."
The Vietnam War was stupid. It shows Americans have their own fools. BTW, I had a relative in the US Army high up in the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations--he resigned his commission because he thought the war was a huge mistake.
Putin was doing okay until he attacked Georgia.

Maybe Russians will get tired of being so obvious when they travel in Europe where they look like they spent their last dollar on a short vacation. I spot them almost every time.

Trump Unhappy With Military Options In Syria Seek Broader Offensive
    https://sputniknews.com/military/201804141063538659-trump-seeks-broader-offensive-syria/

US President Donald Trump is pushing for a broader military offensive in Syria but
Defense Secretary James Mattis has resisted for fear of sparking a clash with Russia,
media reported citing White House officials.

Trump in meetings with Mattis has pushed for an attack that would also hurt Russia and Iran
in addition to the Syrian government in response to an alleged chemical attack in Duma,
the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

Seems our fearless leaders are still toying with our lives

Well it's ON Strikes against Syria have begun - 9pm EST
Have to wait and see if Trump just Poops in holes as per agreement
or whether his attacks include the Iranians & the Russki's & other critical

That oil/gas are the primary motors (pun not intended) is on a track to extinction. I give it 20-years - the uptake on battery-driven cars is already obvious here in Europe. (Where many countries offer a rebate on their purchase.)

The Russian don't see it, but its Prime Problem is the fact that Putin managed the rip-off (of "friends") of basic-industries (like metal-mining, oil and gas production, etc.). Russia, aside from military purposes, has very little industry catering to "normal consumer needs" (as in most Western economies).

Of course the Russians would be very happy for thier economy to change. But I see nothing happening in that direction. Because the plutocrats in charge already have their millions in the businesses mentioned above.

Until the Russians themselves wake up to this dichotomy, nothing will change. Still, each nation generates youth who replace their elders. The process takes time, but it does work inevitably.

It will work one day in Russia as well, as soon as there are enough of Russian youth who never lived under Communist rule and who become the major voters at elections. (They voted for Putin this last time, but many think that he knows his "time is up". Five more yeas and he is out for good.)

This societal factor IS happening today. But, it is like any social development, that is, it takes time as new generations replace old generations. A great many of the young who voted for Putin have no recollection whatsoever of the Communist Russia that prevailed before his arrival. (Yeltsin was a non-starter.)

Time takes time. That is, it will take at least another generation for the older-people who lived under Communism to pass away, and a younger voting group wanting an economy that is not solely dependent on raw-materials for its existence.

They will want an economy that is identical to that which they see in Western Europe, and they will get one as well.

It is only a matter of time ...

That matter became moot as of 0330 this morning (Europe time), after dunderhead literally spilled his beans all over Twitter by "announcing the event".

It isn't his ass-on-the-line so why should he care?

What a dork he is ...

Jesus but this irrational hatred of the two guys who are trying to stave off the greatest threat mankind has ever known, is getting scary; I mean if there were only a few rednecks I wouldn't mind, but there are so many on PF, and the portent of that is extremely ominous in the near term. Strange to realise that we'll be the last generations of homo sapiens when so many generations have gone before us. Get ready for the big one guys, you obviously can't wait for it to kick off! Meanwhile look at your children and g/children and imagine what their futures are going to be?? Suckers!

Putin is part of the problem with his aggression toward his neighbors that is damaging Russia's economy (see the GDP graph above).
Putin is making it difficult for Russia to pivot into a manufacturing or technology economy by isolating Russia.
The first step woyld be ending it's aggression toward nearby countries.

Good analysis, and these strikes, so far, have clearly advanced the long term interests of the US.

OTOH, almost all Americans find Russians, as opposed to Russian governments, exotic, fascinating, often attractive and delightfully different.

Many Russians seem to have a similar reaction to Americans.

Fact not in evidence. Putin is attacking his neighbors and Assad is a dictator.
    Putin should start behaving himself.

Russia does not need more territory. Putin should stop while he is ahead and start concentrating on finding a way to make more Russians to populate its territory near China.

Oh, and if he could find a way for the peaceful transfer of power between opposition factions through some kind democratic process he would be remembered as Putin The Great. Probably Mission Impossible.

You know how juvenile that sounds? You taking testosterone and it has gotten too high?

Sounds like a video game player. Who has video games confused with reality. But if you lose the game in real life, your soiled britches will be incinerated before you know you shat on yourself. No more bravado.

Russia perhaps being the responsible actor here was insuring their ships were not collateral damage demanding a military response on the attackers.

He wants a land corridor to the Crimean peninsula, but now that we're selling lethal weapons to the Ukrainians the sledding is going to get increasingly difficult.

I've been saying the same thing - he would be wise to quite while he's ahead and consolidate his gains.

Obviously, this would be the smart thing to do, so why isn't he doing it? Lately, he's been acting like a mob boss instead of the shrewd head of state he used to be. He's been going Full Retard lately...

Yeah, that isn't going to happen.

Maybe he has been feeling overconfident. Successfully getting Trump elected might have gone to his head a bit :D
