Taxation IS theft. Taxes are an immoral burden siphoning the hard earned fruits of one's labors to an elitists ruling class via a mob rule mentality.
Failure to pay taxes legitimately imposed by We the People IS THEFT. Leave the country if you can't bear the requirements of being American.
Democracy is mob rule. Theft via mob is no more morally legitimate than theft by an individual. Your last sentence is that of the low brow commentary typically attributed to individual unable to make a logical argument. Here is a thought experiemnt for you to consider: "Is it theft if one man steals a car?" "What if a gang of five men steal the car?" "What if a gang of ten men take a vote (allowing the victim to vote as well) on whether to steal the car before stealing it?" "What if one hundred men take the car and give the victim back a bicycle?" It's theft, no matter the circumstances. The fact that you inject democracy is irrelevant.
The US is a Republic with a representative government, not a mob democracy. When the ad homs by the libertarians start showing, you know they are losing the argument. We the People run this country, not a very small group of disgruntled folks who want to turn "stay off my lawn" into a national governing imperative. Libertarians, listen up: step off the sidewalk because We the People will not make way for you.
Not "just once more." Step off the curb for America. Libertarians can vote like anyone else, but they can't rule, and if they break the law, tough what happens to them.
I don't understand your post. Earlier, you said that: "Failure to pay taxes legitimately imposed by We the People IS THEFT." Thievery would imply a theft victim and would also imply an item being stolen. Can you please describe the victim and the item that has been stolen?
@JakeStarkey, I understand that you advocate for forcibly taking people's property. I simply disagree that this is an ethical option. You haven't convinced me that I have the right to take my neighbor's property.
@Longshot, don't care what you think, because I don't have to convince you of anything. All I have to do is ensure that my side wins at the ballot box. Your refusal to pay your taxes is theft.
In order for the government of We the People to PROTECT your body and/or property YOU are liable to PAY for those services. If you don't want to participate in our society there are other nations around the world that you might find more agreeable to your bizarre beliefs. But as long as you are under the JURISDICTION of the US Constitution your earnings are subject to taxation in order to provide you those services. This is all taught to children in public schools. And yes, you can find it on the internet too. Which part of paying your share of living in our civilized society are you having a problem understanding?
You have the right to renounce your American citizenship and go elsewhere in the world. Doing that will relieve you of the obligation of paying US taxes. However if you remain in the USA your earnings are subject to taxation just as they are in all the other civilized nations on the planet.
Your property is collateral for your taxes. Failure to pay your taxes gives the government of We the People the right to seize your property to cover those delinquent taxes that you owe to We the People. If there is any excess value it will be returned to you.
Why don't you take your own advice and learn how this nation came into being via the Constitution? You can find everything you need to learn on the internet.
From the American people, We the People. That you don't like that does not matter. It is smart to pay your taxes.
A more Theistic version of Evolutionary Theory that allows for the possibility that perhaps near death experience accounts may have a basis in reality....... could assist many communities and groups......... to translate the idea that perhaps an infinitely ancient G-d....... cares so much for us that 17 angels..... with greater abilities than high definition cameras...... surround us and record every instant of our lives....... for that time when we have a Life Review with our Creator. The idea that perhaps our lives are of great value to a Being or Beings vastly more powerful than us....... and possessing much greater technological capability than we do........ could... set the stage for a boom in the American and then the world economy. Could a real estate boom plus better Fed policy pay off USA national debt?
Imagining 17 angels belongs in religion or fantasy class, sorry. No. There is no shortcut for fiscal responsibility.
Actually the idea of 17 angels around us with off the scale High Definition capabilities......is a part of Zohar...... as taught by Rabbi Alon Anava....... and to my thinking is perhaps verified by the Life Review part of near death experience accounts that millions of people in America alone have already reported. Rabbi Alon Anava covers that idea around the one minute and fifty second mark in this video:
