or people do x, we think they should do y, those people think they should do z so we'll guess between y and z and hope we don't kill another 120 million!!!

I've merely given you a list of well known market failure problems. You either have to be rational and acknowledge the stupidity of laissez faire, or you have to ignore sound economic comment. Your choice!

You honestly think China is laissez faire? Wow that would be a particularly ridiculous claim.

here are 3 books on Chinese capitalism with which the liberal can begin his education:

    "Capitalism With Chinese Characteristics"

    "How China Became Capitalist"

In his new book titled Markets over Mao: The rise of private businesses in China, Lardy argues that even though SOEs still enjoy monopoly positions in some key sectors in China, such as energy and telecommunications, their role in the overall economy has diminished significantly over the years. Here are some of the facts he presents to back his thesis: in 2011, China’s state-controlled firms only accounted for about a quarter of the country’s industrial output; and their share in exports has dropped to about 11% today; in 2012, state firms were only responsible for about one-tenth of fixed investment in manufacturing. And in terms of employment, SOEs employed about 13% of China’s labor force in 2011, a dramatic decline compared with the 60% figure recorded in 1999.

actually all 3 are about Laissez faire capitalism. You have go to go back to kindergarten once again and learn your definitions

see why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

Laissez Faire Capitalism. "Laissez Faire" is French for "leave alone" which means that the government leaves the people alone regarding all economic activities. It is the separation of economy and state. There are two ways that a government typically is tempted to interfere with the economy.

Think now before you type. I asked "give me one quote where they state China is laissez faire". I didn't ask "can you google a definition of laissez faire?".

Breath in and out. Repeat. Repeat some more. Then respond. Breath in and out. Repeat. Repeat some more. Press enter or delete.

In kindergarten you learn definitions. since capitalism and laissez faire are interchangable or have same meaning it does not matter which word they used. China switched to Republican laisses faire capitalism and instantly lifted 800 million into the middle class and saved another 60 million from slowly starving to death. Do you understand?

This is a particularly ridiculous comment. Liberal Democracy is capitalist. Social Democracy is capitalist. Neither of course are consistent with laissez faire. There is absolutely no reason to suggest that a dictatorship such as China is laissez faire. The very idea is cretinous. And you won't find one credible source suggesting otherwise.

as I said you learn definitions in kindergarten. I gave you 3 book describing Chinese economy as Republican capitalist laissez-faire. Do you really think a old world guy who does not know kindergarten basic english definitions would override 3 book authors?

You haven't given one book that states China is laissez faire. You have simple informed me that you don't have a clue what laissez faire entails. To suggest a dictatorship is laissez faire is on a par with suggesting that the moon shines because of its own batteries.

capitalism is the more commonly used word today. Still over your head?

    Laissez Faire - Investopedia
    https://www.investopedia.com/terms/l/laissezfaire.asp
The driving principle behind laissez-faire, a French term that translates as "leave alone" (literally, "let you do"), is that the less the government is involved in the economy, the better off business will be – and by extension, society as a whole. Laissez-faire economics are a key part of free market capitalism.

No it isn't. Laissez faire is quite distinct. Capitalism demonstrates a mixed economy, integrating private provision with public sector planning. To suggest otherwise is like saying 2+2=GRUNT

The definition of laissez faire has been known for yonks. The OED gives quote from 1825.

The interesting question is why you don't realise that government interventionism automatically means laissez faire is irrelevant. Who told you otherwise?

Please stop with the silliness. Laissez faire refers an outcome where government does not interfere with the actions of individuals. Any economy with government interventionism is, by definition, alien to laissez faire.
