Why does it matter when Arabs arrived to Palestine? If you were born somewhere, no one should be able to kick you out of that area because of your ancestors migrations. That’s why almost everywhere in the world citizenship is a birthright - wherever you are born is your homeland. So, to those Palestinians who were born in Israel, israel is their home. Indiscriminately kicking out 750,000 people from their homes is a war crime. Again, I understand that there was a cause to that, but not all Palestinians who lost their homes and land participated in attacks on Jews.

That pretty much sums up the entire problem.....the 'Arabs' will not accept anything less than the total destruction of the Israeli state!

I don't see the US intending to attack Iran....unless, of course, Iran is foolish enough to launch a major assault on Israel. As for the oil, Iran is free to sell to whom they want....and we don't need Russia & China if sanctions are reimposed!

Me too and I live here ! me thinks that some day the hands that stir this bowel will tire and things will slowly calm down to a nice calm mush, but that's probably not in our life time.

None of the Arab refugees of 1947-1948 has been born in Israel, because modern Israel didn't exist at the time of their birth. The Perfidious Albion was in charge at the time, and the Ottoman Empire before it. There simply was no way for those refugees to have Israeli citizenship.

Besides, as I already said, many of those refugees were born elsewhere and migrated to Palestine during the British Mandate. Surely they weren't entitled to Israeli citizenship, were they?

The problem is that Arabs claim Palestine for themselves as pure Arab territory. Imagine that the 4 million Turks living in Germany will suddenly declare that Germany is Turkish territory. Imagine that all the descendants of the Italian immigrants to US will suddenly declare that the US is Italian territory.

    Theater of the Absurd.

No imagine that all the Muslim migrants who have arrived in Europe in the last few years claimed they had a right to create a country with their laws and customs. That is what the Jews did in Palestine! Perfidious Albion who fought alone against the Nazis then ungrateful jews used terror to create their Jewish State.

That's because they don't do presidents, but prime ministers.... just like in the UK.
They get appointed in the UK by the queen as well. To call they weren't voted in, is a total joke.

The current holder of the office, Theresa May, leader of the Conservative Party, was appointed by the Queen on 13 July 2016.

The CIA even admitted the were behind the coup in Iran. So you're perception is fake news.

You can't quote me on that. So you're not honest about that either.

Let me remind you, who used nukes and who has not. Let me remind you who blew up whose civilian airplane out of the sky and received a medal for it. Who used fake news to destroy a whole nation, causing millions to flee in the total chaos.

You're going way to racist on all of this. You.. not me.

It is not the name, it is the land. Names can change. The land is the same land.
It was about land. The land they and their ancestors had been working for up to 5,000 years.

Most growth during the British time was natural growth of those already there. Some may have come in before the zionists but then they used to move back and forth in the area depending on where work was. Was certainly still more their land than immigrants from another continent

I found this funny and it was this that made me answer the post. You have of course it completely back to front. It was the Zionists who did this to the indigenous people of Palestine.....and it is the Jews of Israel who believe in ethnic nationalism - always have. One of the reasons Zionism was so unpopular with most Jews before the holocaust.

They non the less got removed of their private property of what is now Israel..... and Israel made it the law, that Arab civilians who got ethnic cleansed from their properties got banned from returning only because of their ethnic background.

They are more entitled because since they own that property where they lived on when it became Israel.
Property immigrant Jews who arrived later simply thieved.

You're just making it what the Jews are saying. It's written in the Torah that jews own those lands of Canaan, and they can even go genocidal to thieve the lands.

I'm with you until you say we don't need China to reimpose sanctions to effectively squeeze Iran. I'm not even sure we could get the EU to go along with reimposing sanctions if we jump out of the deal.

I'm concerned the Saudis will get nuclear weapons, probably from Pakistan, if Iran goes back to openly developing them (I don't know if they have a clandestine program or not). As I've said, I think Netanyahu won't get anywhere with the U.S. by woofing--although it no doubt helps him at home--and that there's little chance the U.S. will attack Iran on Israel's behalf. I agree that Iran attacking Israel directly is a different matter.

Finally, I think Israel should decide what the hell it's going to do with the Palestinians in the West Bank. My personal take is that Israel should do what Barak threatened to do a couple of years ago when he was defense minister (I assume he threatened on behalf of the government)--set up a protectorate, or as Netanyahu calls it, a demilitarized Palestinian state. Israel is only a few miles wide west of the West Bank and can't afford to have a Palestinian state with heavy arms in that area. "Palestine" would have to be demilitarized. Geez, Americans can trust Canada, but sure as heck wouldn't want even a friendly state like Canada next door in a position similar to that an armed Palestine would have in the West Bank.

Heck, if the Palestinians were smart (yeah, I know, if....), they would be glad to be a protectorate and would set up a free trade deal with Israel and be under Israel's protective umbrella in what is arguably a very bad neighborhood. Not having to maintain an armed force would be a boon to their economy.

Yes....can you imagine a country only a few miles wide in certain areas being forced to live with an armed and belligerent adversary so close! Israel would be crazy to allow such a threat to exist!

The fact is by far most of the Arabs living in Palestine at the end of the British mandate were descendants of Palestinians, not Arabs born elsewhere.
Yeah, well--something like 70% of Israeli Jews were born in Israel, many have no other nationality and therefore no place else to go. This is aside from any thought they should go somewhere else.
I'm not sure what you see as the parallel. Just as many Israeli Jews have nowhere to go, Palestinians lost their Jordanian citizenship and themselves have nowhere to go.

The deed is done. 70% of Israeli Jews were born in Israel and many more came as children. The question is where to go from here.
