We’ve tried nationalism on for size, why not socialism?

    In the end socilaism always boils down to the idea that some bureaucrat 1500 miles away in DC has a better idea when to harvest the crops than the farmer watching them ripen from his front porch...

    Socialism is the idea that if you have a big enough hammer the shape of the peg doesn't matter.

    Tell you why the people who actually produce value should subsidize those who don't?
    Because by "our country is abundant" enough, you mean that there are people here who should support you, because you don't want to support yourself?
    Because it's abusive to those who produce, and creates dependency and addiction to OPM (Otehr Peoples Money) for those who don't.
    Because- California is showing us the results of even a small dose of it.
    Because Venezuela is showing the results of a large dose of it.
    Because most of us aren't that stupid.
    It's not like trying on a pair of shoes to see if they fit. It's like jumping off a cliff with a pigeon strapped to your ass to see if you can fly.

    Nationalism is pride in country. Socialism is an economic system. They can't really be compared. One can be a socialist and a nationalist at the same time. For example, Norwegians in socialist Norway are very nationalistic. They love, and respect their country. It is only in America, that people are called "racist white supremacists" for being proud of, and having respect for, their country.

    OP...we got socialism...schools, post office and Medicare.

    Some aspects of socials may be good. But it depends on politicians that can be trusted with the task. All our politicians are incompetent.

    I have a great deal of respect for GENUINE conservatives. It is a serious loss for our nation that they have become an endangered species because of the alt right and racist white supremacists driving them out of the GOP.

    The math never lies and it was 100% correct that a MAJORITY of the electorate preferred Hillary to your beloved BLOTUS.

    I have little doubt that the math will be just as accurate if your BLOTUS manages to be on the 2020 ticket.

    Is that you're way of saying you lost in 2016 because you don't understand how the electoral college works?

    Or is it how you're trying to cover for your loss in 2020? It does make sense to plan ahead.

    Most socialist governments are either national socialist from the beginning, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or they end up embracing national socialism eventually, the USSR, China, NK, Vietnam ...

    The "winning margin" in the EC was a mere 70k votes spread over 3 states. That degree of voter suppression was an easy lift for the GOP in collusion with their Russian overlords. It explains why your beloved BLOTUS refuses to do anything at all about it because that would negate the disenfranchisement of the American electorate.

    Why are you so enamored of denying voters their rights?

    Regulations were put into effect because of abuse, and not because bureaucrats thought they knew better. They are there to protect the public from abuse.

    I think he was talking about the open racism that permeates our society, and not simply white supremacists who generally hide in the woods at their 'training' camps.

    Sure, let’s handicap the winners to subsidize the losers. What could possibly go wrong?

    Pretty easy to see here that those wanting socialism because they would have something to gain, and those that don’t because they don’t want to lose what they have spent a lifetime achieving.
    Maybe a little less PF and a little more job is the better solution.

    Maybe in your neighborhood, not mine.

    I'm 56 years old. I've lived in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, and Texas. I haven't seen open racism anywhere I've lived.

    Too bad that the greedy Wall Street Casino Bosses decided that paying hardworking Americans a living wage with benefits was getting in the way so they decided to steal those wage increases and bonuses.
