Stalin and Lenin learned that you can control the country just by controlling the bureaucracy. That's what's happened in Washington over the past decade, and likely more, but the Founders, knowing human tendencies, were smart enough to install a 'checks and balances' system. Leftists are trying to destroy these balances by ignoring Congress and trying to destroy the Presidency but they will ultimately fail.

It is what happens when Communism is attempted in the real world. Communism as an ideal does not properly account for the realities of human nature and how we relate to one another socially and economically. You can't erase the sense of social status or selfishness, the tendency to corruption, the sense of ownership, all manner of barriers to Communism actually working. It would be as misguided an effort as a libertarian state or the sort of society imagined and sought after by religious fundamentalists.
