To bad the supreme court ruled you can't set a limit on money spent to campaign

Paying taxes has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

OK, again, I can't disagree with you on that.
But then in that case, which part (or parts) of this argument would you say contains the flaw?

    A, B, C, or D? edit: or E?

    A: Money is speech
B: Forcing someone to pay money is compelling speech
C: Compelling speech is a violation of the First amendment
D: Taxation is a form of forcing someone to pay money
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E: Therefor taxation is a violation of the First amendment

Taxes are not used for political speech.

And Trump's new appointees will make sure that all elections can be bought for generations to come...

Which part (or parts) of the argument is flawed?
You're saying that it depends on what the money is used for?

What does that have anything to do with what I posted? You have a terrible habit of attempting to introduce straw men into a discussion. The only surprise here is that you didn’t mention Ethiopia. The law should ban ANY contribution to ANY political cause by any entity other than individual human beings, whether it be one penny or $trillions.

Well that’s false. If one cannot afford health care or proper nutrition or reasonable shelter it certainly can be life threatening. If you believe that doesn’t exist in the US you are seriously misinformed.

Interesting logic. I find it hard to disagree. Forced taxation (of individual income) under threat of imprisonment is unconstitutional even without the idiotic Citizens United decision. It violates the 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th Amendments.

It has everything to do with what you posted. Your claim is that corporate contributions corrupt the process but you have no data to show ??

So premise A has the flaw then...
...or is it B? Perhaps both?...

History and the current state of the US government is all the “data” needed as proof. If you can’t see that you are hopelessly blind.

Once again none of that changes what I posted, yet more blind straw men. You must live in a fairy tale land of your imagination if you believe poverty in the US is solved by these programs that many don’t have access to. That’s not to mention the criminals in power are doing their best to try to curtail or eliminate them entirely.

The tax payers via government provides medical care, food, and housing for those in need. Who doesn’t have access to these programs ?? Who are these criminals who are trying to eliminate these programs ??

Man you are seriously blind. The vast majority of the US government is influenced (read bribed) by corporate lobbies. Political candidates are selected and funded by corporations. Do you actually believe Citizens United was a decision based on the Constitution or corporate influence? Those are just some basic samples. Get real, open your eyes man.

I’m sorry but I believe I’ve posted enough. If you haven’t figured it out by now you never will. It’s not my job to educate you. Do some research on poverty in the US. I’m not sure how old you are but I assume you’re quite young. I’ve been around the block for over 7 decades. You need to educate yourself.

You have presented nothing but an ideology without any evidence. That requires no education. It’s sad that someone with your longevity doesn’t understand the benefits of living in the United States. It sounds like you haven’t been to the end of the driveway and back.

Here are some other questions. What are the main causes of poverty ?? Why did the US poverty rate follow a steady downward trend until the mid 60s when it leveled off meaning that more and more people are in poverty every year ??

Why do you assume that anyone who doesn’t buy into your ideology is young ??

I think if congress passed a specific law dealing with Federal Elections and limiting total advertising and monies that could be spent, including pacts and all donations, it would be difficult for the Supreme Court to find it unconstitutional. Regarding c-span despite whether they are partisan or not, it would be free to the candidates and a panel of 2 dems and 2 repubs chosen by the parties could prepare and ask the questions instead of biased news commentors. Your thoughts requested.

Wow, reading replies was shocking. My point was that the their is currently no law passed by congress that sets limits on total expenditures allowed by Candidates in Federal Elections. And, when they tried to do it the Court called it Unconstitutional. Too bad for all of us. It needs to be disputed. Citizens United had to do with organizations being considered to be the same as an individual, having nothing to do with limits on campaign spending which would make it possible for regular, non-wealthy citizens to run for office. They cant possibly rule that that doesn't benefit all citizens, can they. Jim Crow? really? This is a nonpartisan issue.

If corporations are not people, then unions are not people also.
