I would assume both, depending on the people and denomination. The fracturing of the Church during the high middle ages has spawned a plethora of aberrant doctrine. That combined with America's insistence of having ala cart Christianity makes for some very strange beliefs indeed. It is one of the prime goals of the Orthodox Church to maintain as closely as possible the original intent of our faith. It is why we focus on not one source of knowledge but three. The pillars of faith hold up the church, Scripture, Tradition, and the Church Fathers. If you want to know if something is acceptable in the faith research those three things about the topic. If all three agree then it is most definitely true, if two agree it is most likely true, if one then you should be dubious, and if none it is wrong. At least that is how I approach things.
And that makes it wrong because...? Obviously that's a perceptual deficiency on your end. No, that's just what you dumbed it down to. Talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness, or so I've heard tell. Just sayin'. So when are you going to prove your assertion is factual? Disproving my assertion, which you haven't done anyway, would not constitute proof of your own. In case you didn't know. Other than the veracity of my claims, the only difference between what I did and what you did is my failure to advance a fraudulent claim of proof.
Physical harm to people is wrong! I have stated that the reason that murder is wrong is because it is a crime, due to the fact that physical harm to people is wrong which everyone can agree on. It's your turn now. Why is it wrong to, "endorse a glaring imbecility like gay marriage?"
I accept the Greek Orthodox Church, though I would be comfortable in any of the Eastern Orthodox Churches
The suffering husband is an old joke lol surprised you missed the irony we'll chalk it down to 5:46am lol.
I'm sure some women would talk about the "suffering WIFE" too and we don't know that @Angel Reign is a man! You think that I'm in your country?
So you would agree that all married couple should loose all tax benefits and legal protections that marriage bestows?
I would agree with that. Then if they like they can apply those benefits and protections to any two tax payers that joint file or with a state recognized civil union. .
There already is a state recognized civil union. It has the title of marriage. It is a legal institution. It is different from the religious institution. Do you put up this much of a protest over the secular things that use the word Christmas?
Precisely. Not coincidentally, that's also the answer to why it's wrong to endorse a glaring imbecility like "gay marriage". You're welcome.
What do you mean "this much?" I dont protest it at all. In fact I have no issue with any two people having a civil marriage. But those two people are not uniting their souls in the sight of God. As to Christmas, it has been co-opted by business interests and hucksters. Of course they celebrate it on the wrong day. Christmas is January 7th this year for the record. December 25th is "give people stuff day."
