.........if it continues to raise interest rates

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/20/tru...ld-do-whats-good-for-the-country-reuters.html

"Monday's comments come just weeks before the Fed meets again to consider rates. It is widely expected to raise them in September and possibly later this year.

It is unusual for presidents to openly criticize Fed chairs, who are supposed to be independent. But Trump already did so in an interview on CNBC earlier this summer. "These types of comments could be perceived to threaten the autonomy of the Federal Reserve," said Lindsey Piegza, chief economist at Stifel."
    .........................................................................................................
Here's a thought. ****. We already know you are banking on the economy to keep the minions in line. Slashing taxes and increasing the debt at a time of prosperity is already reckless enough. Stop interfering with the Fed's independence.

You can't make this stuff up:

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...N0SS22A20151103?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews

In 2015, Trump claimed that the FED was keeping interest rates artificially low to help Obama.

Now, that he is president himself, he would like some low interest rates, to keep his debt-based, fake economy humming along. But, what else can you expect from the king of debt? The guy has absolutely zero principles.

So you finally admit the economy is humming along.

    About time.

    Thank you Trump!

If I was able to criticize the Feds for eight years propping up Obama's phony economy by keeping interest rates artificially low and printing up trillions of dollars with nothing to back those greenbacks with, President Trump has every right to criticize the Feds.

If Trump is the POTUS that abolishes the Federal Reserve, Wilson's unwitting disaster upon the US, he'll get a freaking face on Mount Rushmore. He could be guilty of Collusion and STILL get that face. The FED is what Andrew Jackson fought against, it's what the Founding Fathers most feared. We'd be able to go back to national banking, and not be ruled by a central federal bank. Oh yes, it's quite a deep topic indeed. No need to "audit' it, abolish it. The nation need not be held hostage by banksters.

LOL! You got this all wrong. Trump isn't criticizing the FED because they give too much easy money through low interest rates, he is criticizing because they don't give enough. Do you really think the king of debt will get rid of the FED (he can't btw)? He's lived on loaned money with high leverage his whole life. That's the MO of the real estate business.

Haha, it's the chairman HE appointed. Another one of the "only the best people" who will have a fallout with Trump?

Trump isn't in real estate anymore, he's the president, he's in politics and I think we can both safely say that he knows the game better than anyone else alive.

He wants that image on Mt. Rushmore, we have room for one more.

That's his goal, he's already rich enough and now he's old enough to work on his legend, more money at this point doesn't matter.

No he is criticizing it because he knows increasing interest rates act as a brake on the economy. And yes it really is that simple.

So you were fine with him advocating for putting a brake on Obama's economy, but he wants easy money for his? Got it.. Of course, we all knew that is the GOP MO, party over country.

In any case, the mission of the FED is to keep unemployment low and inflation in check. With unemployment low, the eye now has to be on inflation. In fact, Powell, who Trump appointed, used to be an inflation hawk. Trump should have known this and nominated someone else if he was at odds with Powell's ideology.

If he wants to be on Mt. Rushmore, which I am sure he does, maybe he should start with:

    Telling the truth
At least try to be a president to ALL Americans, not ONLY his Trumpist base.
Stop insulting people left and right.

Oh wait, that would only bring him up to par with all the other ex presidents who didn't get onto Mt. Rushmore.

The numbers make it indisputable the economy is doing well. We critics of Trump just understand how and why. He came in to office after the economy had been expanding for 7 years. Then goosed it with a budget busting tax cut and environmentally harmful regulatory rollbacks designed for maximum political advantage. Naturally, he has taken credit for the result of his irresponsible actions and just as naturally you cultists nod your heads approvingly.

You are obviously not part of the unhinged leftie crowd. Anything President Trump says is wrong. What part of that do you not grasp?
BTW lefties, as the economy grows, the interest rates will rise.

Probably the most honest answer I've heard from a lefty yet.

I'm certainly not as knowledgeable as you on economic matters but even I can tell he's "goosing" it along.

Isn't that kind of his job though?

I have a feeling that we may need to pay the piper one day but that's another problem somewhere down the road and perhaps Trump believes his other things, like the trade wars, will ultimately make that irrelevant.

It is perhaps a gamble but I'm willing to throw the dice.

Given the economic circumstances in the US and the world when Obama took office, and 8 years of sabotaging the recovery by congressional Repubs, I would say his records for growth, employment, and the reduction in the annual deficit were respectable.

Not that you'll read this since facts are antithetical to the minions but......https://www.politifact.com/illinois/statements/2017/mar/16/peter-roskam/rep-roskam-gdp-growth-obama/

Trump won't get there on his persona, he will get there by putting up the numbers.

Jefferson and Washington are up there simply out of sympathy basically, Jefferson was a founder and Washington was our first president, both sucked at being president actually.

Lincoln is up there because of the civil war and I have no Idea why Teddy made it there.

The moose was likeable probably. His only claims to fame are busting up monopolies and creating a bunch of national parks.

That monument needs someone that actually accomplishes something in the modern age. If Trump can manage to not only fix our domestic issues, but also tackle the foreign ones then he should make it regardless of how much cooch he grabs.

Yay! We can go back to the rapid boom and bust cycle and completely unstable dollar we had prior to the Fed!
