North's media say Kim vows nuclear-free Korea amid standoff

North Korean media have released a declaration from leader Kim Jong Un that reaffirms his commitment to a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula amid a growing standoff with the United States.

The statement Thursday from the Korean Central News Agency followed a high-level South Korean delegation's visit to Pyongyang to meet with Kim and to set up a summit later this month between him and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Kim was paraphrased as saying that it was "his will to completely remove the danger of armed conflict and horror of war from the Korean peninsula and turn it into the cradle of peace without nuclear weapons and free from nuclear threat."

I support the Union itself, not its (and my) employee, who is and has been doing a totally piss-poor job even since he obtained his position. It is because we are patriots and out of our love of country that we say Trump must go.

No actually. The deep state is about administration spanning bureaucrats. This is a trump appointed official. Part of "all the best people" trump has surrounded himself with.

OTOH, I do believe it is an outrageous and highly dangerous situation where supposedly white house officials are deliberately containing the president based on their personal assessments of his fitness to lead. Its an unprecedented event in american political history. And all of trump's very own making.

 

World peace is made in such ways.

And for those who believe the POTUS is doing at least an adequate job? Impeachment/removal was not meant for trifle incidents like this, but for serious occurences. And it was never the belief of the Founders that we should be like every other country with civil revolts replacing heads of States.

But the "resistance" seems determined to put us there.

 

I see your point in the first paragraph. Consumer confidence and US confidence would, in fact go up if everybody you mentioned would just throw away all logic, common sense, and reason, and embrace that obese orange fool. Until everybody embraces the childish self serving behavior of Trump, confidence won't be what it could be under a Trump presidency.

 

Or any Presidency, but this country is driving me incredibly insane. Half of the country is willing to move forward with POTUS Trump and has pointed out gains. The other half simply wants to either overthrow him or disempower him. What's frustrating is that the half that wants to overthrow or disempower him may very well win, without recognizing that there will be a counter punch back. Like I said: It's not patriotic, but I can see a Trumper want to destabilize a say Warren presidency in the same way.

 

I'd give NK an offer to help speed it up: Continue the disarming process, and the US will declare the entire Korea a protectorate, granting it the same status as Japan and Israel.

The vast mayority of people fall in between: they see the issues and just want that truth and what happened is brought to light.

You mean what they did with obama? make him a "one term president that got nothing done" ?

And seeing republicans have a mayority and all power everything thats happened so far was by their own aproval. I think if democrats get either part of congress you are going to see what reall opposition looks like.

 

Ironically enough, this would probably grind government to a halt and be a boon for libertarian types.
