I'm impressed, that's actually a pretty compassionate thing to say.

Now, imagine without the Fed picking up his bill, you'd have been in the conundrum to either pay for his bill out of your pocket, potentially bankrupting yourself, or let your brother die. Aren't you glad for socialized medicine?

And that's the thing that the OP doesn't understand" There is also a price to pay for NOT providing a social safety network. The price can sometimes be very personal, just as it would have been in your brother's case.

Say what? Sure, I've not advocated banning anything.

There is nothing wrong with everyone being happy. Being able to live their unalienable rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I hope you are not against that ideal.

There will be no need of "jobs" to survive. "Jobs" will become choices. Be an artist, sit around your apartment all day playing a guitar and smoking pot...or work hard and become a member of a merit based system like "Star Fleet" and explore the stars or colonize other planets. Live your dreams.

Fight authoritarianism, regardless of political affiliation. All real Americans would be willing to die fighting tyranny. Cowards will just follow the herd.

I use to hear the left say time after time, "how a society treats the weakest and most helpless of it members defines it's true morality and defines that society. We murder our babies..... I cannot think of any more vulnerable a persons. Oh, I get it, pretend they are not humans, yes, that will work.

I'm truly sorry you are so afraid of technology. Are you also afraid of fire or a gun? Technology is a tool developed for and used by mankind. Not everyone is smart enough to understand it, nor do they need to. All they need to do is understand how to use it.

Not that long. 3D printing is coming along nicely but the energy thing still needs work. While us over 50somethings may never see it, I think most of our 20somethings and under will see it..provided a big rock doesn't hit the planet or a supervolcano doesn't set back the Human Race 4000 years...again. :)

The federal government picks up nothing. I have to pay federal taxes with dollars that are routinely devalued thanks to inflation of the money supply in order to help pay for all that stuff.

Yes, there is a price to pay for not allowing the fed to just inflate the value of the dollar or borrow money that future generations will either have to pay off, or deal with some kinda hyper-inflation that is just as bad.

The people who will have to pay that price are us, our children, and our grandchildren. This is something that the left cares nothing about. Kids? lololol!!! Sucks to be them!

Yes! Thats because the left wants the STATE to be your family.

Families, like religion, and nationalism are direct competitors to leftism. Its a totalitarian ideology.

Uniting factors, like a free internet, free speech, and even things like sports and remembering our history are where we see many of the current political issues.

No. because the fed is NOT picking up his bill, I AM. MY LABORS are being used to save someone's life who cannot take care of their own business. ALL socialism is bad. For him to be saved, you have to take money from PRODUCTIVE people. How about I pay for mine, and you pay for yours. There are voluntary taxes, which you BY CHOICE donate to groups who will save his life, if society feels his life is worth while. It is called charities.

Technology itself will decide that the humans that created it are "imperfect" beings, and will eliminate them themselves. A new form of life will supplant the existing one. Arnold, here we come.

Fear of the unknown has been a common theme ever since Mary Shelley wrote "Frankenstein".

Sad to see you're a secret tree-hugger who is a technophobe and wants to go back to "stupid" technology like black powder and horses.

Yes, charity would work wonders with my brother's situation. He might have to take a flight to Mexico to be able to pay for his medical problems, but the deal is that charity comes from people who value the people who are saved by our charity.

Your idea just makes it possible for people to be complete buttmunches, and the government doesn't care if nobody cares about that person. They're allowed to be buttmunches, and I still have to pay for them.

Ya know, I was watching one of those prison documentaries the other day. I spent the whole time screaming at my TV "WHY AM I PAYING YOU TO BREATH!?!?!?!?!?". These are people who have done horrendous things, have no redeeming qualities, and they act as if they deserve to eat food that I have to pay for.

    ARRRGH!!!!!

I'm sorry, but I want rapists, pedophiles, murderers, and other assorted people to just live or die without my help. Why do I have to pay to help these people? I don't care if they die from starvation. Just airdrop them into the middle of the pacific and for those that manage to swim far enough to end up with Tom Hanks on that island, then great! Tom will have to deal with them, but I won't.

We have this thing called charities. There are fewer now that the govt is providing the charity.

Families used to do the same. And religious institutions. And employers/coworkers.

Where am I pushing for any changes to gun laws?
Stating gun regulations can make things safer is a fact, but I said nothing about putting them in. And how is that a ban? Not even close.

No guns, no shooting. Again, that is a simple fact. I own guns, I hunt.

Now find posts where I support any of the regulations posed. Show posts where I state I want guns banned. Except to those who are not mentally stable to own one.
Should take you less than 15 minutes.

You are free to deny your own posts. Others can decide for themselves if you're wrong or if I'm wrong.

    Like you'll have a choice.
If they take from me, they can take from you, and you'll have given them the green light

If healthcare was free (real healthcare, not cuba's version) then I would support it.

If energy was free, then I would be for free limitless energy.

If socialism worked, then I would be for it.

    It would be utopia.

But we aren't in utopia, and those things aren't free-and socialism does not work.

Some will try and, yes, it's a valid concern. As long as the 3% are willing to fight, and not some fictitious, trumped up BS, but willing to fight against true wrongs, then we'll progress as a truly liberal society.

Time until some assclown says "Hey, he said 'progress' and 'liberal'". 10...9...8...:)

Call it what you will, but in all of our known history, human society seems to be two steps forward and one step back...but always forward. I fail to see why we won't continue to do so. I have faith in my fellow human beings to do what is best, in the end...even if we do **** it up a bit along the way.
