Depends on location. Some places still have rubber rooms for bad teachers. https://nypost.com/2016/01/17/city-pays-exiled-teachers-to-snooze-as-rubber-rooms-return/
i said it is clear they are trying to install intelligent design in tx as with the link for validity.
You sound angry. Do you have some issues? No, I'm not jealous. I love her and I'm glad she did very well. I would never choose that career for myself.
It won't work. High performing teachers aren't magic lecturers. Their techniques involved knowing students and figuring out how to motivate them as a group (and individually). Teaching is a relationship process. Many kids won't learn without respect for the teacher. The methods high performing teachers use require intensive work with the students, and can't just be teleported to online learning courses.
It’s an asinine answer to the fact that a teacher can not afford to live where he works. I would think commonsense should tell you on his salary
Where’re is a teacher getting 75k for 6 -8months? It’s amazing how Harvard and Yale etc are getting all these highly educated kids ....but no Improvement. lol Tell me about the schools in radical cities that are focusing more on social issues. You sound like a Trump doesn’t educate himself and just repeats things that are just ridiculous. Sounds to me like you are the one who is brainwashed
I am talking about a course for teachers. They can actually see how these teachers interact with the students and wee why they are more effective. Both students and teachers should have access. Also, we need to do away with the K-12 format and allow students to level up at their own speed. Those who learn quicker, level up faster and get to leave earlier.
No, it's not. It's strictly a rebuttal to your asinine assumption. His salry doesn't matter if he is wealthy already or has other means to live. Duh.
Harvard and Yale etc are getting the majority of their students from private schools. Although only 10% of all students go to private schools, they make up as much as 70% of some Ivy league student bodies. A large portion of the remaining students are foreign or part of a diversity program. This is because private schools are demanding and student focused. Public schools are focused on covering their butts and conflict management.
So true. For whatever reason, if the teacher is not physically present in the classroom, there is a student/teacher disconnect. One approach to this is called Distance Learning. A teacher in one location can be connected online to students in another location. I've observed this a couple of times, and the difference in student behavior and performance between the two locations is striking. One teacher, two entirely different results.
I think if you correlate that with family income and occupations, you'll see that has more to do with it that public vs. private. And trust me, public schools would be more demanding and student focused if they didn't have to be so politically focused.
We've been doing that all throughout my career. It involves going into the classroom and observing. It's not a bad thing, but no two teachers have the same style, and style reflects personality. So much of what a teacher does in the classroom really is personality. At the same time, each classroom has it's own personality. The point is that what works for one, may not work for another.
True. They are welcome to do what works for them as long as they get results. Lack of results should equal lack of employment.
Most teachers do an awesome job, and are very dedicated to their craft. It's the parents who let the side down.
I would agree with you under the condition you show me the validity of the way those results are gleaned.

I never bought into the rich white privilege rhetoric. I know of too many contrary examples. Rich kids who didn't make it and poor kids who did. The real difference is Private schools don't let kids fall though the cracks and slack off. Either you do your work or you face the music. No excuses just results. I totally agree with the latter part of your post. A couple of decades ago school administrators decided that instead of focusing on educating students they would focus on motivating the underachievers, leveling societies playing field and PC politics.
Oh yes, they know how to get their will and demands... just strike and let the kids and parents suffer. The teachers always win, that has been my observation. And the school board can't fire them either, and hire new teachers. I have witnessed this on the college and University level as well. It is especially hard on international students who have no work permit. A 2-month strike screws up any student's schedule. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/a-guide-to-the-ontario-college-strike-1.3635876
WOW... Freedom 55, here I come! The teachers have no reason to strike. The teacher from the OP, the one who had to have three jobs at the side AND sell her own blood plasma twice a week in order to make ends meet, has to be a special and isolated case.
That’s called student teaching. I have had dozens of student teachers, many who were talented in many who are discouraged from teaching. As far as the K-12 format there are honors classes where kids can level up.
Teachers shouldn’t have to work outside of their field to make what other professionals earn. Do lawyers sell shoes at Macy’s?
