God has granted me a long life and I thank him/her for it. In all those years, I can think on a very few things done by our government that have affected me. LBJ drafted me, then gave me Medicare and Medicaid. George W. Bush gave me prescription drug coverage. I'm not complaining mind you, just making an observation. I feel very lucky. How can you top being a middle class, white, American, male. (I shouldn't have said that)

What politicians have done for (or to) my country and my Fellow Americans is another matter. I care a lot about that.

For me, it is more about my utter disgust for the democratic party and their agenda to turn America into a "Third World Banana Republic!" I was once a registered democrat, then became an independent and finally a republican when I realized there were no longer any democrats I could vote for! I would add that I am not alone, since 30% of current registered republicans used to be democrats as well!

 

I think politicians do what the money that corrupts them dictates.
