My dissertation research focused on the role of stand-up comedy venues in the production of contentious politics. I conducted ethnographic fieldwork at three different sites where stand-up comedy took place: a professional comedy club, a self-described punk/rock/horror/sci-fi bar that hosted a weekly amateur comedy show, and a popular drag revue at an LGBT nightclub.

It's always someone else's fault

 

It's driven by inadequacy. Choosing courses which you think will exempt you from the world of competition, is almost always a response to very low self-esteem. They actively resent those who are confident enough to face the world as it really is. They also resent people who work hard and practice self-restraint, as both of these are driven by high self-esteem. There is a huge amount of bitterness in these people, and that cannot be overlooked when considering their seemingly bizarre actions.

If you have kids, encourage them to go to trade school. They turn out students with valuable skills, plus they wont be indoctrinated by liberal fruit loops. A win win!

 

Totally agree. They seek to remain as children, and avoid the responsibilities of life. They sneer at others who are capable of rising above it.

There is good reason they are so bitter and angry-they think the world is out to get them.
