Better yet, because I find your posts of no significance whatsoever, I'm putting you on Ignore.

    Oh, good LORD!!!

    Look up anything on gerrymandering.

Look at Georgia, where the gubernatorial candidate is their Sec State - using his control of the election process to benefit his own chances through several different approaches to denying democracy.

BULL! I'm saying that our democracy is being attacked. And, that is far more true today than it has EVER been in the past. We've seen no organized opposition to foreign assault. We've seen repeated and continued gerrymandering against minorities and the poor. We've seen the cases in Georgia and other states where there is a direct and purposeful partisan assault on democracy.
That's the weakest, most pathetic statement I have EVER heard. And, it TOTALLY misses the jingoism, nationalism and racism of this president.
We are not leading. We are attacking those who don't take direct orders - even in terms of global economics, where we seem to think that competition is a BAD thing and that American companies should be punished if they don't take orders from the president on their business practices.
Again, Ford, HarleyDavidson, Carrier, and others are specifically targeted by this president. That is NOT "driven by our private sector". As to the second half of this, you need to try to make a case.
"PC"??? WTF is THAT? Are you suggesting we shouldn't address white supremacy and racial hatred in American politics as it oozes from the White House?
This administration has demonstrated absolutely ZERO respect for our legislative system and judicial responsibility. And, shooting black kids is supposed to be OK???
EVERY ONE of these items you mention are wrong headed attempts to justify the anti-American disaster being perpetrated - a disaster fueled by racism, abject partisanship, and a shocking and uninterrupted stream of absolute lies from a president who clearly has NO interest in the truth.

No, they have demonstrated dedication to the rule of law throughout their careers.

It is the Republican party that changed.

So tell us about how Washington
Lets go to Google and enter "bear arms meaning" (emphasis mine):

    bear arms
    phrase of bear
    1. 1.
      carry firearms.
    2. 2.
wear or display a coat of arms.
Is that clear enough for you...

BTW, Mr History Expert, you still didn't tell us about how Washington disarmed America after the Revolutionary War.

    I'll wait.

They CAN'T understand because the upper-most rule is to dominate politically. And any mechanism to do so is therefore acceptable.

Besides, both gerrymandering and the Electoral College have been working well-enough (for either of the two parties) for 200 years, so why dump it?

Because forcing the Electoral College to report the the Popular-Vote and only the Popular-vote count to Congress would not serve their purpose. Nor ridding the country of Gerrymandering that manipulates the popular-vote.

Or putting a cap on the ridiculous amount spent to win an election. But, that one works well on those Americans who have no real understanding of Civics. The BoobTube has a real impact upon elections because it sells candidates the way it markets any commodity. And the ridiculous advertising works because Americans spend the most time watching TV! (Don't believe that? See here.)

And given that over the past 30/40 years Civics has not been a real requisite for a high-school diploma, the manipulations work because as a people we were never taught that ONLY A FAIR POPULAR-VOTE* in any other developed democracy on earth determines the winner of a national election. (So, some people wonder, "what's the fuss about?")

Because the sanctity of the Popular-Vote is the essence of any True Democracy ...

*The US is the only developed democracy on earth to employ a warped Electoral College to elect a PotUS and allow gerrymandering of the popular-vote in both state and national elections.

    Amen.

And, of course we have Washington, DC which has more people than two different states, yet has NOT EVEN ONE senator and only one representative who is only allowed to vote on procedural issues.

    Plus, they're ruled by congress!

The idea that this has something to do with democracy is just plain garbage.

Democracy in America is being killed by the Republican party - and they are doing so with full knowledge and forethought.

IOW, you know you're wrong but refuse to admit it.

    Ok. Got it.

When did you find out Congress creates laws?

OIC, you didn't understand the issue.

Let's start with your last comment, have you ever heard the phrase "taxation without representation"?

Then we can move on to the various forms of federal congressional control over the people of Washington, DC.

    That was a long-winded dodge.

You do know that Congress passes laws... Don't you?

    ?? Of course!

But, that isn't a dodge. It is directly to the point of just one of the ways that the people of Washington, DC are subservient to the federal congress in ways that other states are NOT - even though Washington, DC is more populous that two different states that are NOT treated this way.

Can YOU name a couple more?

    Feel free to ask.

If we're going to base America's future on your hat slogan, we need to identify ways in which it is not so great!

And, it seems to me that attempting to slow or stop the Republican assault on democracy is a very important starting point.

The Constitution matters. If you don't like it, that is the Amendment process.

You still haven't answered the civics quiz.

But, let me add another question:

Under what set of eventualities do you believe the Republican party would promote democracy???

Your supposed "civics quiz" is moot. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. DC is what it is. DC is the richest area in America, because the rich are flowing in by the 100s.

The GOP promotes significantly less Fascism than the Democrat Party. That is the best choice.

That's not an answer to ANY of the questions concerning civics OR democracy.

All you're doing here is coughing up a obviously ridiculous excuse for the continuing assault on democracy while demonstrating that you're not even aware of what fascism IS.

Were you to be able to answer simple civics questions we could move on to what the Republican party actually stands for - or even perhaps what you think it SHOULD stand for, as it stands for nothing at all at present.
