Oh, joy! California, Oregon, and Washington State? That will be one big 'Blue Wave'.... (Whatever happened to all those earthquakes and tsunamis that were supposed to have occurred on the west coast before now...?)

I can't see this as simply politics.

To me, it is a slap in the face of common decency. Far too many Americans came out against common decency.

    Too many support hate.

I didn't read all the daily tweets by obama, so I didn't see all the lies.
But fine have it your way, that tRUMP is a pathological LIAR, but you freely criticize obama. BTW - I did NOT vote Obama for term 2.
Sanctuary cities is your definitions of half-witted, wanna-be socialists?? Well, I now don't consider you a novice even on half-witted, wanna-be socialists, That is not a definition of socialists, in my book.

See my sig, and I've had that for over 10 yrs between this site and other forums. And you're right, it's not going to get better. Each filthy party is drifting to the extremes. But most of America is still in the middle.
But we don't have a 3rd option. Everytime I bring up voting 3rd party, I get laughs and jeers about how that is a wasted vote.
Well, hacks are the reason we are in this situation. They vote party, not country.

I have never done what I did tonight. I skipped 2016 altogether because of the stench we had to vote for.
But tonight, I did hold my nose, didn't pay attention to who was running and went 95% D.
As a vote against the division in this country that is now.
And yes, splitting the congress will likely add more division. But at some point we need to reach rock bottom before we begin a climb back to civility.

And until there is a 3rd option, nose holding is all I can do.

OH, and BTW, the chasm really took hold when the R's decided it was better to try to make obama a 1 term prez than try to make AMERICA BETTER.

FivethirtyEight is now showing a 6.5% chance for GOP to win the house, The senate has been called for Republicans
With a prediction of Dems gaining +35 seats in the House and Reps gaining +2 in the Senate

    Gubernatorial Races

    Dems - 18 seats called

    Reps - 22 seats called

Back to my "break even line" of 35 seats. Gonna be interesting to see if it stays there or moves to favor one side or the other.

Will Democrats be so stupid that they will put Nancy Pelosi back in a Speaker?

Wouldn't it be great if you guys could stop hating each other and talk about your differences in opinion?

Neither side is "evil", even though the media would like to say otherwise ....

Dems in the House say the first thing they will do is request Trump's tax returns.

Trump should ignore their request, like Eric Holder ignored the Republicans' requests. It's no big deal if the House votes you in contempt.

Perhaps we have more in common than you might think, Dairy. I wasted my vote -- twice -- on Ross Perot. And that ended my 'flirtation' with third-party candidates.

And, yes, at this moment, most Americans are probably still 'in the middle'. But more and more younger Americans are lured by the something-for-nothing appeal of 'Socialism-lite' -- even though by its very nature, it's a failed, bankrupt system, along with Communism. And who is promising all this 'something-for-nothing' wonderfulness? The political party that is taking over the House of Representatives....

You could make a fool of yourself and post the quote on here, and try to defend her actions.

I gave up on them years ago.

They could always apologise for their political strategies of hate and divisiveness; and then change their despicable ways.

The fact is that they won't; unless the American people soundly reject them and their tactics.

    This one?

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere,”

A political party that wants to throw aside our national borders, set up 'sanctuary cities', squander even more money we don't have on many different welfare programs, disarm our population, and regulate our free-market enterprises into oblivion will do ANYTHING, including putting Pelosi in as their Speaker. No problem!

Will a Democrat majority in the House grind the MAGA to a halt? That is the most important question but I don't think it will be the one asked too often in the coming weeks. My guess is coverage will be saturated with doomsday predictions on endless "investigations" and impeachment battle cries, whether or not Ms Pelosi will have the votes to become House Speaker, whispers of who in President Trump's cabinet will be jumping ship, and some other juicy headlines.

But what I am most interested in is if House Democrats intend to use their majority to participate in the undeniable success and growth we've had over the last two years or if they will slam the brakes on legislative duties to favor endless attacks on the President until the next election.
