    No different than listening to the prosecution. That is how our justice system works. However, the defense's point is stronger. The Justice Department failed to successfully prosecute Edwards/Obama, whose excesses under this same violation were several-fold bigger than Trump's.

    I think the SDNY would be better served focusing strictly on Cohen, then complicating their own matters.

    The Edwards case was very similar, Obama's was more of a late filings issue.

    missing one key peace of vital evidence
    Did Trump order the Enquirer to do so and if so did he state to the Inquirer to make the payment on behalf of the campaign
    if you don't have that you don't have crap on Trump

    It does show a curious selective outrage. Something that most campaigns do and that the government often declines even to prosecute isn't an impeachable offense. Heck, Clinton committed perjury while POTUS and even the GOP senate didn't vote to impeach him. I predict if the democrats keep going down this road it will backfire on them just like their Kavanagh tantrum.

    the FEC found in their audit that the Obama campaign failed to file on 190 million dollars that audit was taken almost two year after the campaign

    No, John Edward's argued that he did not use campaign funds. That he was using money from a friend.

    Trump is on tape ordering that the payment be done in cash, lying about its existence, confessing that he did owe Cohen that money, and then continuing to deny that he ever had an affair with those women.

    Edwards and Obama are both easily distinguishable, not the least of which is the fact that neither of those situations had co-conspirators plead guilty to the felony charge.
