Did you watch the interview with the author? The book might portray Trump as something that he isn't. He did indeed personally attack and denigrate his RP opponents since that is all he had--a cover-up for his lack of knowledge about the issues. So he viciously attacks his critics. So what? Is that debating or negotiating? No. He "knows more than the generals". He is inexperienced and
incompetent and "chaos" is his middle name.

Trump seems pretty relaxed to me. The Big Government is not his baby.

 

If the author claims that he polished Trump's image he is being less than honest. The book is a rather harsh depiction of Trump's personality and behavior. It is very revealing and not very flattering. It does show how Trump successfully overcomes his opposition. His political opponents should have read it and taken it to heart. They still might have lost, but they would not have been so surprised.

IMO, the best strategy for dealing with Trump is to find some way to be on his side. For instance, prison reform. More of that - less silly hysterics about Russia and sex scandals.

Actually journalist Tony Schwartz wrote the book, his name is on the cover along with Trump's. Ghostwriter Tony Schwartz spent nearly a year inside Trump Tower with Trump during the process.

Schwartz told The New Yorker that he had written most of Trump's 1987 book as a ghostwriter. Trump has denied that claim and said the pair worked as a team. Tim O’Brien, a biographer who has written about Trump, also remarked,
“President Trump didn’t write any of his books,” the author tweeted Tuesday. “Ghostwriters on all of them.”

 

That kind of thinking has worked so well for Trump's opponents.

Trump is already claiming ownership of the shutdown if it happens. No amount of spin will place it on Schumer with any credibility.

And the nuclear options would be a foolish thing to do on such a massively unpopular endeavor. It’ll be a great way for the GOP to own every ounce of responsibility for Trump’s money pit. Not to mention it’ll set an even stronger precedence for forcing through unpopular hyper-partisan policies.

Apparently. Likely because you rely on the context fed to you from the media ministry the left operates.

In context, Pelosi and Schumer both claimed the President didn't have the votes in the House (transcript proves that), and said with out the House approval, the shutdown would be on the President. And the President said fine, he'd take the heat if that was the case.

Well guess what?
