A gazillion Illegal Aliens annually jumping National border is a crisis indeed.

So we can detect tunnels, is what you're saying.

Help me out here with your logic? No wall, no physical barrier to deny Illegal Aliens entry but gazillion of drones to detect illegal crossing and alert border agents so they can apprehend them? But without physical barriers, more illegals will take their chances which will require more drones to spot them and more border agents to apprehend them... pretty soon, our border agents will have to link hands on our side of the border, there’ll be so many Illegal Aliens running across...

    Liberal logic... :hiding:

Trump should take the next migrant caravan, let them in, put them on buses, and drop them all off in the Hamptons.

After what these people have experienced in their home country and on the way here, anything on this side of the border will feels like Hamptons to them.

Is America large enough to accept everyone wishing to improve their lot?

    I wish...

Well seeing as how there are over 300 million people trying to get into the US, I doubt it.

Dropping them off in The Hamptons isn't to help them, it's to culturally enrich the natives.

Because I think a wall will not be respected by the illegals?

If you say so, but it really does not reveal anything about a political leaning.

It will be as respected as any wall in a prison is respected by inmates. Walls work.

Of course for or against Teh wall indicates with a good degree of certainty your political leaning. Look up a statistics, will yea?

And Illegal Aliens do not have to respect the wall, they need to phear it.

If it is a wall like in prison, with guard towers every 50 ft and population, which is locked in cells, then it would work, but obviously that won't be the case.

The article doesn't say whether the tunnels go under a fence or a wall, when it was built, or whether it was equipped with motion sensors or not. It's an opinion piece disguised as news.

Not enough guards. If there were no walls in a prison they inmates would just walk out. Walls work and Jim Acosta proved.

It seems it only indicates the degree of loyalty for Donald Trump. I think for myself, while you agree or disagree on things based on what Trump says. Practically noone demanded a wall until Trump told them to demand one.

Why don't you read up about tunnels under the border. They are not making it up. They have discovered a lot of tunnels.

Minimum security prisons do not have walls, and the inmates are not walking out. It is a very poor comparison no matter how you spin it. Of course you can secure a prison with quarter mile of walls and guard towers every 50 ft. It is silly to compare that to 2000 mile border.

We'll have to agree to disagree. You think the illegals will respect a fence, or wall, while I do not think they will respect it.

I know there are tunnels under the border but they were low tech fences and not high tech walls. If they are tunneling under the walls with sensors I'd certainly like to know about it, as would all border security members.

Here is a picture of the Nogales wall. It seems to be made of the steel slats Trump is now promoting. You could have looked it up yourself, but I guess your mind was already in denial mode. As you can see, it is easy to pass large quantities of drugs through the gaps in the wall.

I was being cynical and referring to the assumption by the liberals that medical care should be immediately available to all illegals as they cross the border. And if it had it would have prevented the recent deaths of the 2 children.
Of course the parents had nothing to do with it.

Fences around swimming pools are not made of those things, but somehow they save lives anyway.

You make a good case for the wall here. Because right now, the areas without any barrier are the easiest spots to defeat and are themselves the weakest links.

You probably heard that from someone that doesn't understand the founding of our nation. We are a nation of law. You come here breaking our laws you are off to a real bad start. .....and you say they are American.....I wonder about you.

But with respect, I think all of that is putting the cart before the horse? The starting point is to deter them from setting out in the first place, and that can only be done by deploying air-dropped or smuggled-in flyers telling them not to set out but to apply for citizenship from where they are, and that all other methods such as just turning up the the border will result in arbitrary return whence they came. In fact I simply can't understand why that hasn't already been done.

They prevent toddles from drowning. Is that the goal at the border? If yes, then you'd have a point.

How much of the Southern Border contains any form of man made deterrent to crossing?
