This is what's going to finish western civilizations; they've been bureaucratized, and the bureaucrats' work ethic is 'If it's easier to do nothing, then nothing is what we'll do.'
Yes. Too much trouble. I'd file it prioritywise under firing off an outraged email to my MP about rape.
I get that. But is there an issue with laws being enforced? I'm not sure what the OP wants us to do that we haven't done already. And why the single minded focus on FGM when there's a myriad of things that affect Australian women in so much larger numbers?f
You actually believe rape is worse than the violation of a child? I don't understand that rationale, because at least can adult can offer some resistance against their assailant? But then you're a female doggy person, so what's new! I've yet to meet one who I do understand.
Oh I see, let me correct my mistake Australia's indigenous male ritual... If you don't know, at 12years of age a male child would have the tip of their penis cut off with a sharpened rock in ritual tribal act. Now I know you have to struggle to comprehend the simplest comments but simple to say, the BS of not being able comprehend just shows more of you than me...
Do you have any convincing evidence to back that up, or not? If so, let's have some instead of the sarcasm.
The difference of course being that ceremony you refer to was how long ago...? Clit removal occurs today.....
Oh I am sorry, I didn't know you would not have any idea of the well known ritual in Australia. So http://www.bradshawfoundation.com/unambal/circumcision_initiation.php Now one would assume instead of trying to insult you would ask for evidence first. but I guess your use to sticking your foot in mouth before asking questions...
Page 1 of your quote refers to the learned Doctor studying the tribe in 1938...can we talk about what happens today, in 2019... "An account of Doctor Andreas Lommel's studies in 1938 of the Unambal Aboriginal Peoples living in north-western Australia In 1938 Doctor Andreas Lommel, a member of the Frobenius Institute, lived for several months in the Outback of north-western Australia in a region called Kimberley, with the Aboriginal Peoples named Unambal. During this time he recorded and photographed the daily life of a hunter-gatherer culture." What was that about foot in mouth...one your best mate......
So don't believe it, I don't care. Fact is simple search of "aboriginal male initiation rituals" will give you 153,000 results that mostly supports my statement. You might find some opposing but until you front up, YOUR words mean nothing.
Nah, not running around just to placate people who want to hold a particular stance. I provided some evidence of my statement, time for you to provide something supporting your claim I am wrong.
So, the question was what tibal intitiation... I provided an answer... Again, before putting foot in mouth ask the question...
Arent you implying that it happens today....all Im asking for is verification that it happens today... 1938 is 80 years ago...Im not suggesting youre wrong...just asking for verification that it happens now.....
Actually I don't know. I am assuming it does in some areas but that is tribal rights the Indigenous are demanding. I noted that the article posted actually makes a difference in act but not in intentions. Again, I provided evidence of my statement, I even point to were more can be found. If you think it is important to ascertain validity of current events then that is for you to determine. I was asked to prove the ritual exists, NOT the timeframe, location or just the any other thing you want to toss in an attempt to avoid the fact your premise is not sole ownership of a religious identity.
oh it got the best of me... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-22/nt-elders-concede-to-mistakes-in-ritual-circumcision/5213526 22/01/2014 Is that current enough??? OR do you demand something from yesterday???
OK, youve made your point... put the W next to your name...The participants must be as backward as the others that perform fgm.... I read a report late last nite that confirmed that many, if not all countries in south africa, culturally, and traditionally, have fgm...the women even agree with it, and it is practised by muslim, christian and catholic cultures....I find it sad that the report states that women in SA simply go along with it, together with wife bashing, just because its in their culture...the whole place has the brains of a mute mule... In any case my spies tell me that south africa will be totally black inside two years.... Thats from the mules mouth........the mule....not me.......
https://data.unicef.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/fgmc_U83FGM_9_web_Finalversionprinted_97.pdf This link opened my eyes about FGM...I stand corrected......
Culture and religion are closely related, so that statement is moot. Either way, it's an obscenity, as is mutilating baby boys without anaesthesia for no effing reason whatsoever.
Nobody is saying it's right, what we are saying is using it in a context that "it's a Muslim" thing is not correct. As the chart on Billies enlightened link shows, in countries where it is a custom, some have a higher rate among Muslim girls VS Christian girls, some have a higher rate among Christians. Most however are about equal. Now as a scientist I have been taught to look at the empirical evidence. That tells me that custom is the main factor. My theory on that evidence is that in most countries it is custom ... Similar rates among the two religions. That in some countries, Muslims follow customs more while in others Christians do. It is my honest opinion that customs create religions, not religion creating customs ... Generally ,there are religious customs.
