You assumed racism where none existed from a man who lied about being intimidated because you didn't research the subject carefully letting your own racism fill in the gaps.

You condonmened these kids of racism without being able to point to a single thing they did other than stand there and you don't think that's racist?

With the Buzzfeed fake news, and then this story over the weekend...one has to start wondering if the left really just wants to destroy the free press?

 

Considering that the interaction of the Native American Elder and the young man happened inside the beltway, I thought it was rather friendly -- smiles, no scowls, no fist shaking, no sabre rattling, no violence.

The above is of course, confined only to the interaction of those two people.

I said the kids were baited and I see no reason to change my assessment. The teachers who led the kids to the pro-life rally were in way over their heads. It wasn't a trip to the museum.

In my years of teaching, I sponsored student government many times and took hundreds of students on school-wide field trips. Any time you take kids to the seat of government--and I did because I believe seeing their government encourages kids to be active citizens as adults--you put them in a position where they can run into people who are protesting.

One of the teachers was reported by the kids to have told them to start a school chant. If that's true (I believe the kids), it was a bad idea. If the kids had reacted by sitting down and chanting, "The world is watching!" the jokers provoking them would likely have been made to look like the aggressors they were.

I prepared kids before taking them on field trips--to be safe, first of all, and to act like adults. I figure I owed as much to the kids, their parents, taxpayers, and younger kids coming along in future years who would like to go on a similar field trip. I may have been lucky, but I never had a student injured, arrested, or reported to us in three decades of teaching. I never even had a kid miss the transportation back to the school.

Neither the Native American nor the young man walked into camp at night unannounced with violent intentions or to steal horses.

It's really a non-event. That particular interaction, anyway. jmo.

The kid didn't put himself the the guys face, the guy put himself in the kids face and beat his drum into the kids ear. The kid showed a proper restraint instead of pushing guy back away from him which he had every right to do.

 

So, when I look at the video in the OP again, then I see nothing bad of the native with the drum there ... However, the grinning, arrognate guy with the red cap on his head lucky that he has not something on the Gap gets for his disgusting arrogance. It would be justified ...

You should watch the other, non-edited videos that are in the thread that show the entire event. The racist began yelling at the children, then the native american man for some reason got in the fact of the kid and banged his drum.

As an adult, I added Canadian citizenship to my U.S. citizenship. Today. I live part of the year in Canada, part of the year in the U.S, and spend part of the year travellng the world.
