I've been asking that exact question - why so many lies about inconsequential things - yet no answers to date. Why would someone purger themselves by lying about something that didn't need to be lied about in the first place? 'WHY' is my favorite question ... and the inability to answer it gives me a lot more answers.

 

Lying about dates, not meetings. In many cases it is getting dates from different testimonies to it is now a lie that may not even hold up in court.

 

Using just two examples, Flynn and Stone, they lied about content, not dates. In the case of Stone, he lied about the name of his contact and Flynn lied about the content of his meetings.
