In many parts of Southern California, 40% of the radio stations are in Spanish. Another 15% is awful Latin-pop, which is in English, using a lot of Spanglish words. I actually prefer the real Hispanic music over the awful Latin-pop stuff, if I was forced to choose. It's loud like Black music and sounds like something stupid low-IQ thugs would listen to.
Well, maybe not Republicans anymore, after they realized how much it would end up making tax rates go up.
I don't think they want to leave because of illegals. They mostly want to leave because of cost of living. Sure California taxes are high, but they are only higher by 1-2% of income relative to other states. What is killing them is $3,000 per month rent and $600,000 houses. These housing costs aren't because of illegals, but instead because of the booming tech industry that tends to crowd high income people into cities.
Well also overcrowding from excessive population. And the traffic on the freeways is really really bad. They may be poor, but with 3 or 4 minimum wage income earners jammed into the same apartment, it has driven up apartment rent prices.
If the cities were full of poor people, and multiple families were living in each apartment, there wouldn't be a housing cost problem. Poor people bring housing costs down. Its the rich software developers who are earning $130,000 per year who are driving prices up. These high housing costs are probably going to drive out the poor from any of the housing in the population centers anyway. If you look at the population of Los Angeles for example, its population has risen from 3.7 million in 2000 to 4 million today, not much of an increase. But its home prices have increased from $200,000 in 2000 to $500,000 today. This is because of the tech boom.
I've also noticed that Spanish words such as Rafael/ Jacinto/ Robles are correctly pronounced in SoCal but anglicized in Northern Cal.
In the super-high-priced Bay Area that may be true, but the situation is a bit different in the other areas. In those other areas, you are wrong, it leads to a shortage of affordable housing, because you end up with a bunch of lower income people but only a limited number of the cheaper places to live.
What areas are you talking about? And how do you know Californians want to move out because of issues in those areas and not because of the expensive cities?
Good, I can’t wait till all the whining malcontents get the hell out of here along with the army of meth heads and cookers parading around with those stupid looking MAGA hats and their broken zipper smiles....GOOD RIDDANCE!!! Don’t let the Colorado River hit your asses too hard on the way out.
Yeah, some of your young people are committing suicide, because they simply can't afford to live. So screw them, right?
California is and always has been a land of golden opportunity. Losers and crybabies have been leaving for as long as I can remember. If you can’t hack it skulk off to some red state paradise and continue whining there...Adios!
What is a bit surprising is the number of out-of-state [mainly Red states] posters so preoccupied with California; nearly all their remarks are predictably inaccurate hyperbole.
Some claim to be Californians too. I have lived here since ‘64 under both Republican and Democratic administrations. I travel the country extensively and I know for a fact that my home state is the garden spot of the country. I laugh at all of these whining ninnies and their loser attitudes. Like any heavily populated state, we have our share of problems but we always seem to move forward and overcome them.
I am glad that the nit wits on Fox News are continually trashing California. It helps to keep their ignorant fans from moving here. We have too many of them already. Hopefully they will all move to Idaho and Alabama soon..
Good...less traffic, less wait times, by all means may all the failed Californians enjoy "bon voyage". Do YOU live here in California?
