Because you stated : Robert said: ↑ She should not have been having sex with her grandfather.""" As if the responsibility is on HER.... The correct wording should've been "her filth of a grandfather shouldn't have raped an 11 year old."
That is one of the sickest statements i have ever read. She did not have sex with him. HE RAPED HER. And again in case you are in one of your forgetful moods - HE RAPED HER. Not only did you put the emphasis on the 11 year old victim, but you described a rape as 'sex'. There is no excuse for that. None. Ever. I sincerely hope I never see a statement as profoundly sick as this ever again on this board, though I suspect I will be disappointed.
The responsibility is on her (or her legal guardian) to get an abortion sooner if she wanted to get an abortion. But she (or they) waited till 19 weeks.
What don't you get about the fact that she is 11 years old....wasn't it you I explained to that that isn't an adult or even a teenager, it's a CHILD..she was RAPED , she was raped by the filth byfriend of her own grandmother, she lives in a seriously dysfunctional home …..she is ELEVEN YEARS OLD ....she has NO responsibility. She is a victim... My GAWD! I know Anti-Choicers want to punish women but this is one of those things they CLAIM they think is "precious:...a CHILD! And look at them they vilify her and dump on her, a CHILD, because some pig raped her!! UN-effing-believable!!
Just in case of forgetfulness I am repeating this post and stating I could not agree more with the sentiments
At 19 weeks an abortion is not a simple matter for an 11 child. The cesarean surgery might have been a better option for her outcome. I've had a uterous scraping when my placenta didn't expell with my first child and I've had a cesarian with my last child. The cesarian surgery is a pretty simple procedure. Scraping the uterus seems to me a little more risky. Could be the doctors weren't up on later term abortion...I imagine later term abortion should take skill and experience to be considered safe. I'm sure there is more to this story ....another thing to consider is that when this child grows and has more children...Will she consider a fetus a human being and child? Will she realize it was killed? Or will she see it as some here want her to see it...a parasitic tumor growth? The best case scenario would be to choose life in this situation.
Did you read my post? Sure doesn't look like it. Like I said, later term abortion very well may not have been in the little girls best interests. Physically and mentally. This sounds like risky stuff for a doctor of little experience to do on a small child. http://aidtowomencenter.org/abortion-secondtrimester
The skill of the doctors is a good point, although c section is risky also. I’m not sure which would be easiest on a 11 yr old. The only thing I’m sure of ... the. 65 yr old dude Should never have done this.
The earliest abortion would've been in her best interest...when SHE wanted it NOT 15 weeks later after "officials" deliberated over it..
The officials only deliberated over it for 4 weeks. She did not present trying to get an abortion until 19 weeks.
No, five weeks, my mistake was a typo, yours wasn't reading the OP. """When she was 19 weeks pregnant she went to a public hospital in Argentina's north-western province of Tucuman to request an abortion, the reports said. Abortion in Argentina is only allowed when pregnancy is the result of rape, or when the mother's health is at risk. Amnesty International said the girl met both those criteria. But local authorities took nearly five weeks to decide whether to go ahead with the abortion, while several doctors refused to carry out the procedure on the grounds of "conscientious objection", according to local media. The delays meant the pregnancy continued to 23 weeks, when doctors decided it was too risky for the girl's health to go ahead with an abortion.""" Now, did you have a POINT?
At 19 weeks the procedure would be riskier then if done earlier...especially for an 11 year old.. I don't see how you can say that a later term abortion at 19 weeks would have been the best choice for her. A cesarian 5 weeks later very well could have been the best choice ...for her... as seen by the medical personel involved.
That's true but 19 weeks is when she went to the doctor...we do NOT know who discovered her pregnancy or when but I do know an 11 year old would not know she was pregnant so I hardly think she had anything to do with the timing.. It would've been if that's the first the doctor's knew of it!
This is what you get when the government makes decisions for you. In the US, doctors don't face 15 years in prison for performing an abortion, so there is no reason to wait until rape is proven. What if the rapist is convicted and an abortion is performed, but later proof shows up that the sex was consensual? Is the doctor now a murderer?
This goes back to the bigger issue of women LYING about being raped. Which was actually the case in the Roe vs. Wade case. (less than 1% of abortions are due to rape)
NO, it isn't....it's about an 11 year old who was RAPED. Do you think she was lying? And had NOTHING to do with the ruling... WTF does that have to do with anything?
If an adult has sex with a consenting 11 year old it is rape. So consent is not even a topic here...it doest matter one way or the other.
Of course, I was talking about government involvement, which is the topic. Who is surprised that this took a long time with the government in charge of of their lives?
Here's the ENTIRE post and response, NOT your cherry picked version: """"kazenatsu said: ↑ This goes back to the bigger issue of women LYING about being raped. Click to expand...""""" FoxHastingsNO, it isn't....it's about an 11 year old who was RAPED. Do you think she was lying? """"""kazenatsu: Which was actually the case in the Roe vs. Wade case. Click to expand..."""""""" FoxHastings: And had NOTHING to do with the ruling... """""""kazenatsu: (less than 1% of abortions are due to rape) Click to expand...""""""" FoxHastings: WTF does that have to do with anything? Why couldn't you address the entire post???
Not officially. But anyone who's familiar with the history of that case knows it probably was a large factor in the ruling. FoxHastings, if you go back to the post above it, he was giving a hypothetical that did not have anything to do with that 11 year old. You really should pay more attention to the context statements are given in.
We can be pretty sure that one of the adults who was taking care of her knew she was pregnant many weeks before then. Pretty hard not to see a 15 or 16 week pregnancy in the skinny body of an 11 year old. The girl herself must have surely felt the baby kicking.
