CNN to be sued for more than $250M over 'vicious' and 'direct attacks' on Covington High student

$250 million seems to be the going penalty when news outlets push an anti white, anti conservative and anti MAGA agenda using false narratives, no facts and lies. A true news outlet would do its best to honestly report the news and not rush to put out any story without doing any research. Just keep in mind tht CNN spent millions sending reporters around the world in search of dirt on Trump.

Many liberals toss around the word 'bigot' all day long, but CNN is the epitome of bigotry and it just might cost them 250 big ones.

I just did a quick scan of CNN's website and they're not reporting on this, or at least I haven't seen a story on it. (and the Smollett story of him being charged with felonies is in the Entertainment section, i.e. it's buried)

Fantastic! I hope this sets a precedent for fake news reporters. It does damage people's lives, in this case, a minor.

CNN was just passing along information it obtained on the story, actually the only person they will allow to be sued and held accountable is the originator of the video, an individual who sold videos to news outlets.

Remember when CNN along with MSNBC, ABC News and other fake news outlets smeared and blamed all Trump supporters for the racist attack upon Jussie Smollett in "MAGA Country" (Chicago) ?

 

CNN has settled with Lin Wood before........they’ll do it again in this case......probably in the $5 million range.......which would net the Sandman family about $3 million. Not a bad wage for ‘smirking’ and listening to a drumbeat from an old creep

 

Frivolous? Do you remember that some of these kids were doxxed, people were saying things like "throw him in a woodchipper, lock them in the school and burn it down", all because the media was dishonest in reporting.

As for the sum, I'd imagine they're actually hoping for settlement.

 

What dollar amount do you think is appropriate for irresponsible journalism which slandered a kid for days on an international scale? The punitive part of the dollar amount should make CNN think again before they report on bogus and/or exaggerated stories with the sole intent of making a specific group look bad all while playing the race card. If CNN actually has to pony up any significant dollar amount, then their shareholders should demand a top to bottom enema of that organization.

 

That Muslim congressman says factual reporting of her words could threaten her with harm. But when CNN does it to MAGA...

Did CNN do any of what you just stated? If they were going after the people that actually lied through video manipulation or ones that called for harm to come to him I would understand and agree with the lawsuit, still not 500 million worth though. But they are not, they are going after entities that simply reported on the news they had, they ran retractions and aired the alternate videos as they filtered through — simply because they have deep pockets.

 

From CNN? $0.00 u less new evidence comes out.

They won’t have to “pony up” a significant dollar amount because they simply reported the news they had. If they edited or refused to air the longer videos that would perhaps be a different story but I have not seen that reported by briebart or Fox News yet....

And no one has to make trump supporters look bad.

I'd say their reporting was narrative driven, rather than a passive reporting of information. Because of that, a lot of people seen the incident incorrectly, then went on to be quite ugly. CNN wasn't the only outlet involved, but they played a part.

The sum they're asking is pretty astronomical, but again I imagine these lawyers know they won't get anywhere near that amount, they're just hoping that CNN will throw some money at them so they'll go away.

 

The entire MSM media willfully dragged through the mud, trashed, smeared, slandered an absolutely innocent 16 year old kid who had done absolutely nothing wrong...

And surprise surprise, our normally uber-sensitive, oh-so-easily hurt and offended, melting from just about anything liberal snowflakes are high-fiving each other, siding with the low life scum who smeared the kid, come up with a million excuses of their unforgivable actions and are openly hoping for them to get away with it. So CNN got a short video of an old indian man beating a drum in the face of a smiling minor white boy and the headline became White Trump supporter boy disrespects Native American veteran while chanting Build the Wall. People were threatening the life of this boy, wanting him kicked out of his school, even boycotting his parents business.

That's what happens when fake news gets spread and networks will do to feed their agenda.

 

It has not a damn thing to do with liberalism it has everything to do with fanatical idiots that continuously look for the bad in every situation.

 

Any story can be real or fake it's just how the ball bounces...

 

CNN didn't just report the news they had, the had numerous discussions with all sorts of experts who ripped this kid to shreds, called him a racist, and then tried to tie that back to Trump and his supporters. But the big thing here is they didn't just report what they had.

As far as Trump supporters looking bad, well, if I started typing I just continue to do so until I hit the character limit for a single post, so I won't. You guys will just have to live with your illegal alien sharia law abiding gender swapping dysphorics, because you think that makes liberals look good.

 

Some accountability would be nice though.

 

The collective leftist allied mainstream media deliberately practiced character assassination against a minor for political reasons while KNOWING that the story was utterly false in nature. There is nothing frivolous about these lawsuits.
