There are buy backs all the time. Surprisingly, none of the criminals with illegal guns are selling their guns at these buy backs.
No just 60% of all firearms. As can be done with any non-semiauto firearm. Then it's time to do some studying of firearms, the U.S. Constitution, self defense and Americans in general.
I dont suspect they will. But, in time, if they were banned they will slowly be eliminated from society.
60%?? The problem is bigger than I imagined. And you thete could live for a time in Australia to see how life is bliss with no fear of guns being on every second person/in homes. "As can be done with any non-semiauto firearm" then instead of acting like a" boy with a toy" how about changing your attitude?
Not really, unless they have rights, and not simple privileges. New Zealanders don't have rights, everything they have their government ALLOWS them. Countries like that simply are not equal to countries with rights...
If I've contradicted myself I apologize I said on page one "A degree of control wouldn't mean elimination. It wouldn't mean taking away all your rights. It would mean the saving of some human lives by restricting the mass of the slaughter. Rat a tat tat tat tat tat would become rat..reload single shot..a..reload...tat..reload...tat, three live saved just there in some school full of kids......or isn't that important enough? i.e. your right to bare arms- semi auto arms is of greater importance?"
Because New Zealanders' ability to protect themselves was a privilege granted by the oppressor state. Now the oppressor state has removed that ability and New Zealanders may as well be cave men, only the quickest and strongest will dominate. Such regressions are offensive to me. All of it predicated on the bad acts of a single individual. Pathetic...
Another anti-gunner falsehood, all a ban will do is prevent the law abiding from having access to the banned firearm, the criminal element which is what is causing the problem will still have access to all the firearms they want through the very same channels the get the illegal drugs they sell. During the late 70's Miami and other major cities where awash in cocaine and turf wars where fought with fully automatic firearms, which under the NFA where difficult for the law abiding to obtain and nearly impossible for criminals to get their hands on. So where did the fully auto firearms come from? They came in on the same ships and planes the cocaine was being smuggled in, yes they where banned just like the coke. The problem being criminals have no fear of breaking laws, as such bans of any type will have no effects on their activities, other than to make the law abiding a softer under-armed/unarmed target. As such you ideas will actually kill law abiding people and that is flat out short sighted evil or worse.
It's a lie, American care dearly about life and given our medical system though be it expensive it saves tens of thousands of lives compared to anywhere else in the world.
What is the fascination of yourself with semi-automatic firearms? Such firearms have been in existence, and available to the general public in the united states, since the late nineteenth century. Their existence spans three different centuries of human history. If they do not qualify as being in common use for legitimate purposes, one must question just which firearm would indeed qualify.
No the problem is considerably smaller that you imagined, your using a microscopic part of our population, which causes the majority of firearm deaths, and trying to paint a broad spectrum of firearms as being the cause of the problem, the truth is the overwhelming majority of firearms you want banned have never been, nor ever will be used in a crime. Plus you are making the emotional error of blaming the tool not the trigger puller, has Mothers Against Drunk Driving ever called for ban of certain motor vehicles? The answer is never, they fully and rightfully recognize, that would never solve the problem. Instead MADD went after the root cause, drunk drivers and by doing so has had some amazing results in reducing drunk driving in the U.S. No illness can be solved by treating the symptom, the only solution is to cure the disease and in the case of firearms, that is the person who unlawfully pulled the trigger.
Its more than disagreement. You think you know what's best for my country, you don't. You clearly don't even understand the basis of my country and our rights. My government can't simply take away my guns, there is a whole system to protect from such oppression. Your country on the other hand need only tell you a thing and its done, because in truth you have no power, no rights, and no recourse...
Then here is an answer. Whether or not it serves as satisfactory to yourself is another matter entirely. Semi-automatic firearms are nothing new. They are a very old, very common technology that is just slightly newer than metallic cartridges and smokeless powder themselves. There is simply no legitimate reason to object to such a technology while ignoring all other types of firearms. Then by all means. Explain the matter to everyone present so that, once and for all, they may indeed "get it" and put the matter to a permanent rest.
