First on CNN: Key House Democrat requests Trump's tax returns from IRS

    By Lauren Fox, CNN
Updated 7:03 PM ET, Wed April 3, 2019

(CNN)House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal has formally requested President Donald Trump's tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service, likely launching a battle with the administration that could stretch months or even years in the courts and could shed light on the President's finances.

In a letter to the IRS sent Wednesday and first obtained by CNN, Neal cites a little known IRS code in his request for six years of Trump's personal tax returns from 2013 to 2018. He also requested the tax returns of eight of Trump's business entities, a nod to escalating pressure from liberals in the caucus who have argued that Trump's personal returns wouldn't sufficiently paint a picture of the President's financial history.

    ... https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/03/politics/trump-tax-returns-house-democrats-request/index.html

I don't expect the IRS to be worried about Trump's long-running audit excuse. It will be funny if Trump actually fights to block the release of his returns and his businesses' returns, though. I don't think he could credibly use his imaginary audit as a justification for doing so.

Probably the fifth amendment would be a sufficient excuse?

He's audited EVERY year. So you are saying you don't trust the Deep State?

I don't follow your logic. I trust the deep state. I do not trust the president.

I'm sure that Trump would never cheat on his income taxes; that would show low moral standards and as we all know, he is a paragon on virtue. :icon_jawdrop:

Yeah, there’s no way this will boomerang back and smash the Democrats in the teeth.

    Shortsighted pinheads, they never learn.

    Trump will just Stonewall it.

    Trump will ignore the requests.

It will go to the Courts.

    Etc...

We will probably see Hell as the venue for the Stanley Cup Finals, before we see Trump's taxes.

Dude Trump's got more tax lawyers and accountants on staff than sh*$ for brains has on his committee. I assure you there's no cheating there most certainly is using the law for you to pay the least amount like every stinking accountant in the US does. Sometimes the IRS won't accept the deduction and that's why your audited, heck the last time I was they found stuff I should have written off, whoops.

Your paragon of virtue, leftist Warren Buffet's corporation Bershire Hathaway owed back taxes of over one billion. Comments?

Provided that Trump is actually able to stall it, I must agree. But it's funny nonetheless. He has claimed (demonstrably falsely) that he was unable to release his returns because of an audit that only he claims is even going on, and he has later claimed that he is "always" under audit. Sounds like he wants to be in a position of pretending he is open and transparent and trustworthy without having to put his money where his mouth is. Typical Trump, really. I look at this process as calling him on his goofy bluff at the very least. He will actively fight to keep his tax returns concealed despite originally claiming that it was only because of the audit that they weren't being released, and he always phrased it as though it was not up to him personally, but up to the IRS.

There is NO law that requires an individual (or President) to publish their taxes. Is this the best the butthurt can do? :roflol:

Of course there isn't, yet Trump is the first president to break with a long tradition of releasing tax returns for public scrutiny as a part of running for the presidency, and he has offered clearly false reasons for doing so and has pretended that he is willing to do so, but is being prevented from it by an outside force beyond his control.

Not happening, not now, not ever... but the TDS mob's transition from Russia collusion hoax hysteria all the way back to the Trump's tax returns hysteria is undoubtedly a move in the right direction :D

Yeah i have comments; His corporation is no different and should pay what they are legally required to. Btw please show me where i've stated that leftist Warren Buffet or his corporation is a paragon of virtue. In fact I know very little about the man other then he owns a rather large company.
