    Trump has stopped the media from making up guesses about what he did wrong and reporting on them? He's stopped folks from demanding he turn over his tax forms? He's shut down meetoo after the Kavanaugh debacle? Not sure I see how Australians who are not allowed to discuss their politics can even make such a statement and not be ashamed.

    the problem fueling the rise of gangs isn't the availability of guns.

    Anyway, the ignorant folk in Australia are going to start seeing a lot more street gangs, and maybe at some point they'll come to the realization why things are the way they are in America.

    You take people in from violent parts of the world, you get violence.

    There is research dating back to the 1970s showing that children in particular are more adversely attdected by videos if they are told they are real - in fact it was the genesis of skyhooks song “horror movie”

    By the way interesting that this was passed by the Morrison Government and not “the left”

    There have been many incidents of laws being applied in such a way that were in likely violation of the Constitution, but no one seems to care.

    As for "hate speech" what exactly is "hate speech" ?
    If we were to shutdown all hate speech we would most likely be shutting down half the political debate today.

    One can only presume you mean selectively enforced hate speech.

    It isn't skin color, if that is you are insinuating I mean. In Southie Boston, neighborhoods have a high number of white, poor working class and unemployed who deal in gangs, drugs, and guns.

    It has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with a poor, urban culture.

    The death rate is the death rate - and any rate has high as the US cannot be burried by saying - It's only in the BigCities where the druggies live!"

    That excuse is just not on ...

    You don"t "get it". In a country where ONLY one-third of the population actually owns a gun, why should the rest tolerate the crime that is due to guns? Why should kids carry an automatic weapon into the classroom to kill other kids. From where-in-hell does THAT idea come!

    Nope! Ban ALL AUTOMATIC WEAPONS of any kind. And that means semi-automatic that can be worked into fully-automatic!

    Can't do that because there are too many already out there? More breathtaking idiocy in the face of a major societal problem ... !

    And how many full auto weapons have been used in a crime in the US? I can only recall one in which a semi-auto was converted to full auto. Sure has been a sudden rise in foreigners telling the US what to do with gun laws. Here's what I say..... :p
