Your history of posts on this site confirm that you have a poor understanding of the mechanisms of evolutionary change.
should we consider a million year flood? New Cities in more optimal locations could help green our economy and generate energy.
I think every correctly takes that as your admission of defeat. You must have been desperate, if you needed to bring out that kind of lame propaganda. Thanks you for playing, and we have some lovely parting gifts for you. Normal people understand that something can still be very bad even if it's not an extinction-level problem. You are part of a cult. I am not. How do I know this for sure? My beliefs are falsifiable. I can name many types of hard data that could falsify my beliefs. That puts my beliefs in the category of science. Your beliefs about global warming being a hoax are not falsifiable, putting them in the category of a religion. There's literally no evidence that could change your beliefs, because you hold those beliefs entirely due to faith. If you disagree, list what hard data could falsify your beliefs.
Lame propaganda? Climate scientists who don't agree with the alleged "consensus" of scientists are lame propaganda? And scientific data by reputable researchers and NASA that don't fit with the global warming conspiracy of the alarmists is not accurate? Some of those scientists on that video were authors of the first IPCC. Now they're heretics. Wait, are you suggesting I'm not normal? Normal people can agree that something can be very bad, or perhaps very good. We don't know. It's the people who believe the scare tactics of the alarmists, that "the world is going to end unless we take drastic measures in the next 12 years", who are not normal. Well, that kind of doomsday belief I'd say soulds more like a cult to me. Putting your faith in leaders who tell you disaster is eminent unless we do as they tell us is very similar to cult behavior, even primative behavior. Like witch doctors or astrologers that signs from the heavens show the gods are angry. The video alone falsified your beliefs. But still you have faith in the climate models and temperature proxies and temperature reconstructions. Look, even if I did believe the global warming scam, I still wouldn't be in favor of the crap solutions the socialists want to enact. For one reason, it will never affect me in my lifetime. Secondly, what they want to do won't change a thing. At most importantly, our inventiveness, ingenuity and scientific knowledge is expanding exponentially. What seems like a huge problem now might have a comprehensive solution 50 years from now. Nobody is taking that into account on your side. What hard data could falsify my beliefs? Easy. If in 1,000 years the Earth has overheated killing all life on Earth, I will have been proven wrong.
Quite possibly. If true, our actions of today will be responsible for massive death and destruction. The question is whether this is the Earth we intend to pass on.
Which dilemma are you considering here? As residents of Miami Beach would attest, ports aren't the real problem. Plus, the impact on the US isn't limited to "our" cities.
they are the most market friendly and upgraded ports could provide underwater housing along with additional port facilities.
seawalls are less market friendly. and, technology is improving. transparent aluminum technology is no longer science fiction.
OK, now I have NO idea what you are suggesting. For starters, let's recognize that we are not somehow immune from what happens the world over. And, the issue is not restricted to ports.
Underwater housing? Heh. No, maybe floating houses. That is being done already in some regions of the world.
transparent aluminum technologies could help enable more useful port technologies and housing potential.
Unless there is a major discovery in new energy sources, this is the earth we will pass on. I think that is were the smart betting crowd would place their money. Humans will adapt as we seem quite good at adaptation. But I am under no illusion that a significant change will happen in regards to co2 levels. For it is probably impossible to get away, enough to matter, when it comes to fossil fuel energy. The energy demands of the world will continue to grow, and I doubt wind, solar and geothermal can take up the slack. I think I am being a realist here, although we will see more green energy, but it will fall far short of being able to provide the energy needs, for a modern civilization. And of course, we should strive to move over to as much green energy as possible, in those areas where it is feasible. Of course, I have little doubt that some nations will make fossil fuel energy so expensive that people will have to reduce their standards of living, their comfort index, but I just doubt that most americans will put up with hot houses in the summer, in the south and west and cold houses in the north. And if the left has this in mind, that is a losing remedy. And I cannot see any western nation devastating their economy, in order to lessen co2 emissions. Not for long anyways. We are just not at a place, technologically that we can get fossil fuel energy down to something that the experts think that we would need to do in order to address the growing co2 level. Anyways, I would rather be an optimist and give some consideration to what Dyson Freeman, or is it Freeman Dyson....when he maintains that a warmer earth may turn out to be more beneficial than not, when all is said and done.
And Unicorn farts could replace fossil fuels while Mermaid construction companies built our underwater cities. Just so you know..Star Trek was fiction.
Star Trek inspired a chemist to invent transparent aluminum. It really exists and is being used by the military. Just another in the long line of real technologies inspired by ST. ST probably borrowed the idea for from existing speculation that it could be made - just a guess. They often borrowed from real cutting edge ideas.
I assume you are referring to ALON. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_oxynitride Otherwise it may be this. https://phys.org/news/2009-07-transparent-aluminium-state.html
Sure....with only a couple Trillion dollars, some new technology and massive political/Military support.
