Tuition or Dinner? Nearly Half of College Students Surveyed in a New Report Are Going Hungry https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/02/nyregion/hunger-college-food-insecurity.html As our Great Leader said..."Let them eat...whatever."....trump has both the intellect and compassion of a turnip....
Im sure all the liberal professors are lined up at the office offering to take a cut in pay to help these poor students!!!
What an absurd stance. Obesity is caused by poor nutrition in addition to high calorie diets typically found in cheap foods.
I kept myself fed during college by working two jobs. Perhaps these Millennials could give up protesting Trump 20 hours a week and find one?
You're an advocate everyone going to college and borrowing to do it. What do you think happens to the price?
Maybe the problem is tuition is too expensive, rather than them needing to be provided with food? I know in the last state I lived in, they jacked tuition rates up to pay for nearly fully paid tuition for Dreamers (illegal aliens). The tuition price went up 30%.
The girl in then photo above that article doesn't look like she missed too many meals. So why is tuition so high? Could it be the excessive perks and retirement benefits for college admins and employees?
^^^ Nailed it. You want someone to blame... check out the Leftists that have created the university financial scam.
Do these young people have zero ability to budget and zero common sense when it comes to money? From choosing degrees with little or no demand, to picking colleges they can't even remotely afford (and putting themselves in mega debt because of it), to not even being able to budget (or live within their means) enough to buy groceries? And on top of that, people now look at you like you've got two heads if you suggest college students could have jobs while they go to school. Heaven help us if these folks are our future..... They'd better all go into politics I guess, because politicians seem to be terrible with money too. What do you bet these same budgeting geniuses who say they don't have money for food DO have money for Starbucks, Netflix, beer, smart phones.....
But the risks are not always so evident. Many of these students never go on to complete their degree, even though they spent years of time and money going to classes. That's something many of them didn't think about. And a degree is no guarantee of a job. (or at least not always)
And whose fault is that??? A degree in anything remotely reasonable will virtually guarantee a job. Maybe not the exact position you want or the pay you've convinced yourself you're "entitled" to, but a respectable job.
You apparently think Trump is responsible for every unfortunate situation on the planet. Please explain how the transition from Obama to Trump impacted these students causing them to go hungry? Waiting.......
