    Well, declined my snowflake friends kind offer of a free room and the privilege of driving her and her friend to Galveston in her brand new Cadillac. She took it well, then went on to whine for 10 min about how I was mean to her and she didn't think my apology was sincere.

    Actually, it was only 50% sincere since I meant every word I said. :icon_fork:

    Resv made... now Im looking forward to my trip! Have you ever felt like something was a bad idea from the get-go and it kinda eats at ya til its resolved, Thats what this was. Glad its over.

    My 1.5 cents, that's it worth, I think you are taking the best route.

    Unfortunately, in this highly contentious political current world, putting a little distance between you may save the friendship. Do the dinners, the meet up on the beach, whatever, but having 'away' time will let you breathe.

    For those who were wondering, I behaved at the Asheville Farmer's Market. Sort of. Let's just say we only had to take two trips back to the truck to off-load, instead of our usual 4 trips.

    My gardens will be happy, I'll be happy, and everybody knows when I am happy, the world is happy..... :)

    Good for you! I am slowly waking my garden up. I have so much to do but screening in my front porch is a priority. Gonna wait on soil temps to hit 70 then corn...beans....watermelon. Planted 3 tomato plants today. ...five in all...and got a pepper plant and curled parsley...and strawberries just starting to turn red and flowers that needs weeding .

    Got the screen door cut, laid out, drilled , glued , and clamped. My old glue didn't stick...I rekon it froze. So I went with a 3/8 dowel in one inch thick material and cut the width down to three inches . My bisquit cutter didn't work and just burned material. The bit was dull and the end result looked like crap. Tried to take out my mistakes when I cut the width down. Then I drilled holes in the stuff......centered and lined up...and used 3/8 dowel to hold it together . Then glue and clamp.....after dry fit. I like a good dry fit. It means less sanding to match up joints. Anyway. ...it doesn't look too bad. It is old wood....gonna sand and then boiled linseed oil. Also gotta figure out a closer. Ain't thought much about it till now.

    The door is 77 inches tall and 36 inches wide. Made from one by three heart pine.

    Have a kicker of a UTI going on myself, every pain killer, antibiotic and probiotic I can lay my hands on is being consumed.

    What a healthy bunch we all sound like. As one of my sayings goes, they shoot horses in better shape than me.....

    Hope you get well before it's vacation time.

    I have a scratchy throat and I know where that is going..usually an upper respiratory infection. I try to tell my husband it is the environment we live in that makes me sick.The humidity and dampness are not good for anybody. As I type here comes the rain and with it the humidity tomorrow.

    When we get rain, we get a lot of rain.

    Oh no, don't let that progress! It's soooo hard to kick once it settles in.

    We are supposed to get a rainy weekend, which throws my project list way off kilter.... things to weed, plant, fertilize. And the new veggie garden to complete. My tomatoes are still on pots on the deck, with roots coming out the bottom.

    Isn't there some sorta nature rule that it's only supposed to rain during the week and not on the weekends?

    Squash, zucchini, tomatoes, corn and peppers are doing well in our garden we should have squash ready to pick in a week or so.
