Goats will get caught in fences and we used to tape an old broomstick across the horns to keep them from getting caught in the fence wire. Trouble was ....well....trouble. ....The new baby is black and white...pics later..I hope.

Would have worked for me when that goat, I had butted me in the barn. She was so mean the border collie took one look and went the other way. That surprised me because the trainer told me Cody was inclined to bite the goats. Needless to say Cody and I gave up on goats. I would still like to have some goats but but....goats that don’t butt. You know nice goats, that are friendly.

Mine got out of my so called goat escape proof fence (ha). When I caught up with the hatefut thing she was in the neighbors brood cow field. No way was I going to chase her down in that field. I called the neighbor and she told me she couldn’t help she had an emergency. I told her to keep the goat. Any neighbor that couldn’t or wouldn’t help deserved the goat.

LOL @ mean goats. Anything I feed that either turns on me or runs away is history. Butters would likely end up cabrito tacos!

Goat meat actually tastes good. I won't turn down your next goat roast. Never forget Smartie, the road to a man's heart passes through his stomach.

Did you only have one? You need at least two. Goats are herd animals after all.

    I've seen goat curry on the menus of places that serve goat;
... and have avoided it because it's goat, for some reason.
Same with goat's milk and goat's cheese.

I was eating Sushi @ 17 but years later, many years later, I still haven't had goat.

See, with Sushi, I wanted to try it.
With Goat, well, I haven't had goat yet.
I once turned down deer/venison... I regret doing that, but I was 15 and never heard of people eating deer before, ever.
Like, wow, to me, so I passed.

I'd eat deer before I'd eat goat, but idk, something about it, I'm not sure. It's not a phobia, it's just, a blank spot.

The thought of eating rabbit disgusts me, literally, but the thought eating goats doesn't...
But still it's goat, I fear goat products won't taste nice - so I haven't had goat before...

Might try a goat curry now, maybe.

Enthesis on the word maybe there.

Goats are just like deer. And my wife cooks a mean rabbit. And you are telling me you would eat raw fish before trying a goat? Don't know what to say bout that. I have never tried goat because I don't have the heart to kill one.

Soap made from goat's milk is wonderful and the best part... nothing has to die to make it.

Now T-bone steaks... thats another subject. :knifefork:

Well I got up to $500 up but like a dummy gave $65 to the slots in the terminal while waiting for the flight home. Still a winner! Paid for dinner in SF with my son! Don't play the slots in the terminal!

Good advice. Had a friend who, when winning, stopped playing long enough to run out and spend his money ahead on something he wanted... like a new pair of boots. Said thats the only way he ever came home ahead!

Always said Id get a money order and mail it home. Unfortunately, never gotten that far ahead. :(

Been thinkin about using some of that reclaimed pine for a small deck off my front porch. I have a lot of one inch tongue and groove stuff and I want some kind of pattern to use the shorter stuff...under four foot long. Maybe a herringbone or parquet pattern. I just found some timber oil....mostly lindseed oil...for bringing the wood back to life ...and I am going to thin it with 50% turpentine. At least thats the current plan.

We left tehachapi Wednesday morning with another overloaded trailer bound for north Idaho. Made it to the Oregon side of the Columbia river gorge east of the john day dam and pulled into a rest stop for a couple hours sleep. Woke at 3am to both driver side trailer tires flat. Cordless flood light, a real floor jack, and a cordless impact driver, I had them changed out like a nascar pit crew. Luckily I carry two spare trailer tires. Finish off the trip to our new home with 4 more hours of driving, and spend the rest of Thursday unloading the trailer. Friday was spent rebuilding the rear axle of my daughters truck, with the hopes of heading back to tehachapi Saturday morning but the parts guy goofed and had the wrong parts waiting for me. The correct parts were there Saturday morning, axle back together by noon, spent the rest of the day mowing grass and drinking beer. Woke up this morning early and we were on the road by 2am. One stop to fill the truck and transfer tank with diesel we made the 1175 mile trip back to tehachapi in 18 hr 20 minutes with 3 pee breaks. Get home and find the gfi outlet that the beer fridge plugged into tripped and my beer is warm. F’n booo!
I need to go to work tomorrow just to rest up.

The next and final trip I’m towing the crownline which at 6000# is less than half the weight of the trailer I pulled twice so looking forward to less stress. Shasta county to Klamath falls has some hair ball down grades.
