    When it comes to a goat proof fence always check the bottom of it. Goats will push out at the bottom. I usually put a stiffener in .

    No, but they've been talking about it for TWO YEARS! Each floor is moving in phases... my floor moves the weekend of June 14. (2 blocks down the street). :roll:

    Found a plan from Anna White for a 2x 4 bench and I wanted to see if I could build it from a plan. 0604190934.jpg The first thing I had to do was change the plan. I had to adapt to the material I had on hand. Instead of 2 by 4 frame it is 1 by 4 rough cut and a one by four tongue and groove. The bottom rail.....the light one....is a mistake. But it was also glued and doweled together so I just put the rail in the right place and left it.

    I put everything together with deck screws....with a T25 star bit...1 1/2 long...I think. And the t&g stuff with finish nails. Gonna put on a t&g back and finish with linseed oil. I also changed the overall length to fit on the porch....caint keep Patches off of it long enough to do much of anything. ...also too lazy.

    If I built another one I would put it together with deck screws and glue. Do a lot more sanding and replace the deck screws with dowels. Just put it together with screws and glue then back up the screws ....drill the dowels. ...glue em back in. One dowel at a time.

    The seat flats and back used to be wall boards and I rough sanded them and put a mahogany timber oil on them. I use oil because the wood is so dry. The oil helps it ....it seems more solid with a few coats of oil...it all has imperfections. ...cracks....iron black tints...holes...etc.....it is really fun to work with. May get a pic of the whole thing when I am done.

    The wood still has some of the original paint on it because I got tired of sanding and the armrest needs work.

    Good morning, peeps. Sad today... had to put my sweet old dog to sleep last night. 18 yrs old, deaf & blind. Gonna miss my Lucydog. :cry:

    She squeezed out between the crack in the fancy gate that cost big bucks. They didn't put it close enough to the post...or that is how we figured she may have got out or either climbed the fence. She was something else. I got her at a bargain price, which turned out to not be a bargain. The baby I paid 200.00 for and the owner said, "I tell you what I will do I will throw the mama in for 50.00 more dollars." What a bargain. I should have known nothing that cheap is a bargain. If it would have been a car I might have kicked the tires but you don't kick goats. I would like to kick the guy that sold me the cheap goat.
