By opting out of owning guns, you're giving us a power monopoly.

Having a carry permit, and actually physically carrying, are two different things.

True... but as noted by another poster, you don't need a carry permit to carry a gun.
Point being, of course, is any given person has a lot more guns around him that he thinks.

Considering the way you are throwing around the name "Nazi", do you know what a Nazi is?

I had a carry permit for years before I ever 'carried', if that's what you want to call it. It was more 'in case of' then an active need or want to carry.

You are correct. And I'm sure it drives some people absolutely bonkers to know it.

People don't realize a lot of "law abiding" folks do it.
One of the most straight laced liberal persons I knew in my very liberal law school carried a pistol on campus every day they were there.

If you're not worried about being shot, why would you support further restricting firearms?

if no one sees the gun, not a issue, I have said many time, everyone should be allowed to conceal, no permission needed

if someone has road rage and I do not see the gun, no fear of a gun accidentally or intentionally going off - but see it as the guy is raging, people worry

I am just explaining that some cops fear guns... just the reality of it

if I see someone that look like a gang member with a gun, it would be worrying too

So.......a given person is being unwittingly put in harms way by people carrying guns. Got it.

You are fully aware of the fact your statement is not true.

Why do you make statements you know are not true?

Except for those of whom carrying a firearm is not actually a choice but rather a need.

I have no issues with gun ownership, but I feel that people should have to at least have proper training in the use of a gun before they are allowed to own one. There are way too many people in this country who have no idea how to use a gun properly, and own this because they think it makes them tough. That's why you have cases like this.....
    https://www.rawstory.com/2015/09/te...ots-carjacking-victim-in-head-then-runs-away/

There are too many morons like this who think that owning a gun turns them into Rambo, but who have no actual skill or knowledge on how to properly use guns. This guy ran in trying to be a hero and shot the victim in the head. Then he ran off like a coward instead of facing the consquences of his choices proving himself to be a worthless peice of trash.

Gun ownership should be dependent on mental health, criminal history, and proper training. All 3 should be required before you can even apply for a permit.

I was elk hunting in eastern Idaho with my wife’s cousin several years back. We were in Bruin country I had my .44 mag on my hip. Getting back to the truck one evening, I started to unload the revolver when the cousin asked what I was doing. Being I was a California boy at the time I said “I don’t want to drive around with a loaded gun in the car”. Him being an idahoan replied “why not, everyone else is”.

I did not carry when I was in college.
If I were in college now, I'd carry every day.

Then explain how such is the case. How does any particular individual choosing to own a firearm, serve to make the united states a more dangerous place to live in?

Tell us why we should not worry about the state abusing this requirement to create a de facto ban on gun ownership.
Tell us why we should have to seek permission from the state as a condition to exercise our rights.
Tell us how the state has standing to issue a license to exercise a right.

It's always a choice when you strap the gun to your being prior to heading out the door. That is indisputable.

Why is that any of your business?

You used the term very freely. It made me wonder.
