I know several californio descendants today.

There was a period of many years, after spain left California where these people ran much of the area.

They hunted much of the grizzly bear in California.

Two weekends ago during the California Democratic Party Convention in San Franshithole, Governor Newsom took the stage and said "You never hear about the Alabama dream or the Tennessee dream but you always hear about the California dream."

What Newsom and the other California liberal Democrats and socialist progressives won't admit that the California dream has turned into a nightmare.

Yeah, President Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and put more than a few newspaper editors and publishers behind bars.

I would get a big kick out of seeing Acosta, Cooper, Lemon and the Mad Cow sitting in jail.

In California some call the homeless vagrants, I don't but every city in California today now has a large homeless population because of the failed progressive experiment that was going on in California for the past thirty years.

Again, nobody was talking about vagrants or homeless. The post you quoted and replied to had to deal with city officials. I have no idea where you got vagrants from.

The laws are in no way illegal. States are not and can not be compelled to enforce federal law. As such, NOT enforcing federal law is not illegal.

Well then, I suppose, well according to you people from all around the world and every walk of life can simply take up residency where ever there is a state that doesn't adhere to federal guidelines concerning immigration.. So how's that work with federal guidelines on employers or say social programs and voting?

Somebody on this thread mentioned vagrants.

Back before the phrase "homeless" was coined, they were called vagrants.

I remember the vagrancy laws that every state had back in the day.

You had to have so much cash in your pockets or a cop could throw you in jail for being a vagrant.

Today you have 20,000 people sleeping in their cars every night in L.A.County. Most have a full time job or a monthly income. All have money in their pockets and a banking account. All have a smart phone and many with an i-phone.

But they can't afford to rent a home not even a 400 sq ft studio apartment because there might be enough housing in California but not for 40 million people and the Democrats in Sacramento still have the welcome mat out at the border.

The homeless crisis in California was caused by Democrats.

Two weeks ago the Trump administration said they were going to enforce the federal laws that are on the books that Clinton, Bush and Obama refused to enforce.

Illegal aliens can't occupy HUD housing (federally subsidized housing, section 8 housing.) It's the law.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina response was...
But but but 110,000 undocumented immigrants occupy HUD housing units in L.A. County, where are they suppose to go ?"

I don't give a **** where they go, maybe back to Mexico or Central America.

Kick the 110,000 illegal aliens out of the federally subsidized housing and let 110.000 American citizen homeless persons occupy the HUD housing.

All they have to do when they do come to California to go to Disneyland is get off the freeways and drive on the surface streets.

And what Hollywood doesn't show you, ... when you visit Venice Beach you see feces, hypodermic needles, trash, rats, tents and thousands of homeless.

Venice Beach homeless are high class, they have tents to sleep in

California has waves and not the type of waves that surfers surf.

Homeless wave threatens liberal safe havens in Venice Beach, California

Wilson locked people up for speaking out against US involvement in WW I. He suspended the bill of rights and the 1st ammendment in particular. Do you really want to revisit that dark time in America by locking up reporters? Seems very Hitleresque to me. Hitler used many of the same tactics that were used by Wilson to consolidate his power. In Lincoln’s case several states had succeeded and formed their own armies and fired on US Federal troops.

Your absolutely right! The Democratic party doesn't care one iota about American citizens, or how may of our daughters are raped and murdered by MS-13 gang members, or the thousands of Americans every year who are victimized by illegal immigrants! They want future votes to ensure their perpetual political power at any cost! We used to be a smart country, but now we are a dumb country. Eventually we are going to pay a price for the stupidity of the politicians we vote to send to Washington, D.C.!

Looks like despite posturing to take in more illegals, the democrat politician in maine now says she can't take any more.

This is why they are backed up on the streets of Austin.

Venice was a filthy dump when I first started going there in the late ‘60s. Reagan was Governor, Nixon was President and Sam Yorty was Mayor of LA. In ‘71 me and a bunch of friends rented a 3000sq ft 5 bedroom house on the corner of Dudley and Rose a block from the beach for $350 a month. The whole neighborhood was infested with run down shacks, people shooting up speed in the Park down the street. We could have bought that house for $35,000. That was under GOP rule.

Now after decades of liberal rule, Venice is a great place to live. The old filthy needle park is clean and kids are playing ball in the day and basketball and tennis at night under the lights. That run down house I lived in for six months back in GOP days last sold for 1.5 million and is in a great neighborhood with nice stores, restaraunts and bars. The same can be said of dozens of neighborhoods which were dumps under Nixon, Reagan and GOP rule. Your assertion that Democrats have trashed LA is a bunch of crap. We have had a population explosion since those times but our inner city has been on the upswing since Jerry Brown took over for Reagan in ‘74. You might be able to fool these Fox News idiots who have been trained like monkeys to hate California and LA in particular with this tripe, but I have lived here for 50 years under both Democratic and Republican Governors.

I have seen the rebirth of dozens of formerly run down areas into vital areas with business opportunities and great living conditions. Now old warehouse districts downtown are being transformed into great loft and retail space. Where Staples Center is now used to be a place where you better be packin’ a gun if you want to go there at night. I used to go to the fights back in the good old GOP rule days at the Olympic Auditorium and it was very dicey. When Irish Frankie Crawford beat Mando Ramos in 71 I was there and barely got out of there with my life.

You still better be packing around Staples Center.

A few clean streets and bright lights leading to freeways does not change that.

Venice was a dump in the 90's and still is.

You seem confused as to the issue being discussed. States can not be forced to ENFORCE federal law. As in using state resources to police federal crimes. That’s what ICE,
    FBI etc do.

It is not. It is simply not allowing state/city resources to be used doing the federal governments job.

Here's what Jerry Brown did when he became Governor back in 75 when California still had the best roads and highways in America,

He needed something to get himself reelected again in 78 so he took the taxes collected by the California gas tax that were only supposed to be used for building new roads and highways and maintaining the roads and highways and put the gas tax money into the states general fund and you ended up with a surplus while no new roads or highways were built during Browns 8 years as Governor and maintenance on the roads and highway stopped.

Today California's roads suck big time.

    BTW
I think they were shooting up chieva (heroine) not speed unless they were bikers.

Venice became a zoo starting in the early 70's

During the early and mid 70's the first thing a LAPD officer did when he was jacking up somebody was to have the person roll up their sleeves looking for needle marks.

If I remember correctly, back then a needle mark got you 90 days in the county jail.

The heroine problem was really out of control during the early and mid 70's.

I had dinner at The Enterprise Fish Company on Main Street in Venice last week. Venice is looking good. In the ‘90s I used to play outdoor full court basketball on the Courts at Venice beach three days a week. It was great then too. When I lived there as a kid in the early ‘70s it was pretty rough but fun for a bunch of wild, tough kids like those I hung out with. That was back when Republicans controlled the state. We used to call Venice...Where the debris meets the sea..as an answer to Del Mar Racetrack...Where the Turf meets the surf...I have no idea where you come from but you sure don’t know anything about LA that you haven’t read on a right wing turd Hunter blog.
